Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Big Blue Intelligent Parking App Design! The goal of this challenge is to create a new mobile application for IBM employees so they can share their car parking slots between them.

For this challenge we provided you with mockup screens to explain the idea we have in mind, as well as the client's style guide, and we are looking for you to help us with designing the user interface of this application by providing great graphics and visuals.

Challenge Description:
The Intelligent Parking Application is an application that will allow IBM employees to share their car parking slots between them, by selecting the dates and time periods when they are not going to use their parking slot and allow others to book these parking slots and use them.

Design Goals:
- Please take a look at the branding guidelines first and then plan the user interface of this application.
- Think how quickly the user can find what he is looking for?
- The application should be easy to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions!
- We are looking for Modern mobile designs including best UI practices, make sure the application is visually appealing.
- We need to focus on both iOS and Android platforms for this application.
- We are looking for a responsive design to adapt to different smartphones screen sizes and resolutions. 
Do NOT copy the mockups provided - they are just there as content and general layout guidelines - we want you to use them as the basis for an easy to use, professional application!

Screen Sizes:
- Mobile Resolution: Design for iPhone 6 Retina Display 750px * 1334px
- Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when resize graphics will still look sharp! Also it will be great if you can provide the landscape version.
 
Required Screens:
- Please take a look first at the provided mock up screens, and please don’t forget to treat them as guidance and do not copy them exactly, we are not looking for a colored wireframe.

0) Navigation:
- Think of how the user should navigate this application?  Keep in mind this App should be easy to use and understand.
- Main pages should be included in main menu navigation:

1) Login Page:
Wireframe page 1
- A user will be able to enter his Username (please call it "Intranet ID") and password.
- We need a Login button.
- Do NOT use the Remember Me label and checkbox - Intranet IDs will be remembered by the app, but passwords cannot be saved.

 
2) Share My Slot:
Wireframe pages 2 to 4
- When the user clicks on My Sharings button a view of shared periods will appear.
- Now if the user clicks on one of the periods he will be able to:
-- Edit the selected period.
-- Cancel the edits.
-- Save edits
-- Delete the period.
- When user clicks on Save, Cancel or Delete he will see Share My Slot Page view again.
- If user clicks on settings icon at the bottom while viewing Share My Slot Page, user will see his profile where he can see his slot number and delete his profile.

3) Book Slot For...:

- If user clicks on Today button user will be able to see slot details under day and date:
-- Booking Number
-- Floor
-- Zone
-- Slot Number
-- Plate Number, now if the user clicks on Plate Number he will be able to:
--- Select between his registered plate numbers.
--- Delete plate numbers
--- Add new Plate Numbers
- If user clicks on settings icon at the bottom while viewing Book Slot For Page, user will see his profile were he can:
-- Manage Plates:
--- User will be able to see his registered plate numbers and associated Parking slots to each plate.
--- User can filter/search his parking slot bookings by plate numbers.
-- Delete his profile.
Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means make everything match. Coloring, heading sizes, spacing, design elements, etc.

Target User:
- IBM employees who may be in an office environment or motor vehicle
 
Judging Criteria:
- How well your design captures the requirements and follows IBM branding guidelines.
- Quality and cleanliness of your design solution.
- Your design should possible to build and make sense as a mobile application.

 

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
