Challenge Details
Our mobile application "Bible. Is" allows users to listen and/or read the Bible in multiple languages. Please download the app Bible. Is from the App store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bible.is/id378075859?mt=8). The user experience challenges faced with their current application are detailed in this video.

The user scenario is detailed in the attached video, but is also outlined here:
1. User will select their desired language
2. After language has been selected, the User will select their desired Bible out of the available options
3. Each list item will display available content (New Testament, Old Testament, etc), along with accompaning icons correspoding to content type (text/audio/video).
4. User will select the content they wish to see, but then will not be able to see what content they have for the Bible they've chosen.

Design Concepts Problem:
1) Content Navigation
- The current navigation for language content selection is confusing and needs to be reworked (look to improve this!)
- The application has Bibles in many languages and they may have videos and other content associated with the language - how does a user find all materials in their language?
- When a user picks a language, they might see the Bible but not the other content. So we are looking for a way to have the language drive all the content (as a top-level filter) and give a great UX filtering experience for the rest of the Bible content
- The language preference only shows available Bibles right now, while they may have video content from JesusFilms, related audio content, etc. How can we show all the content, without it becoming confusing?

2) Iconography
- The functions / labels need to be made more visual, so as to be universally understood by everyone
- The app needs to use more icons rather than text, because some of the target users are likely to be illiterate (hence the audio content)

Challenge Screen Requirements :
Please download and familiarize yourself with the current app. We would like you to rework the arrangement of the current app content to make for a better user experience. The screens listed below are only for guidance / the content that needs to be covered, if you think you need to add or remove any screens to improve the UX then please do so. (Focus on solving the design problem we have)

1. Navigation Solution
- This screen needs to show a new solution for the navigation, and possibly replace the existing sidebar

2. Feed of available Bibles and other Content (including Filtering Options)
- This is the first screen that is shown after selection of language
- The content here will be broadly of these categories: Bibles, JesusFilm content, related audio content, related text content. Each needs to show a thumbnail image, and icons for the content that is available with it.
- For eg. Some rows may have an Audio version, some may have partial Audio for only certain books, Some may have no corresponding Audio, Some may only have a Video, etc. Currently, all rows have the same appearance, and the User literally would tap into each row and find that out.
- Within each Bible, there will be an Old Testament and New Testament option. The icons for these will be grayed out or in an active state, based on whether or not they are available. There is no indication that a Scripture Portion and/or JESUS Film video is available.
- The available content that could be displayed in each row (that each needs an icon for each different state):
      1. Old Testament in text and/or audio (dramatized or non-dramatized)
      2. New Testament in text and/or audio (dramatized or non-dramatized)
      3. Scripture portions  in text and/or audio (dramatized or non-dramatized)
      4. Jesus FILM video
- Current filters for content are Versions, Language, Countries. This is displayed as a tabbed panel - and is confusing since the language has already been selected as a global filter. How do we make the filtering system more effective?

3. Selected Bible
- Upon selecting a particular Bible, the next screen will be an audio player with text display if available.
- The title leads to a dropdown which allows the user to browse through various sections of the Bible. Is there a better way to show this?
- While on the Bible audio page, how will the user navigate to or view the other related content?

Devices:
- Apple IOS 7+ iPhone
- NOTE : The app is currently intended for iOS and Android.

Attachments :
- Branding_Guide.zip for the branding guidelines.
- Bibleis_Logo.zip is the client logo
- Screenshot_Clarifications.zip - the app screenshots along with descriptions of the problems encountered on each screen

Important:
- Accessibility is key - most users of the app may be illiterate so the focus should be on using less text and more visuals.
- Keep things consistent. All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Design Guidelines
- Font and colors : See attached Branding_Guide.zip. Please try to maintain the typography/colors and aesthetic of the existing app.
- Orientation : Portrait.
- Create it for iOS 750 x 1334 px (iPhone 6)
- Make sure create all your graphic in 'vector' format (buttons, icons, etc), so when resize for bigger versions, graphic still look sharp!

Design Considerations
- The application should be accessible and use visual cues
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!

Target Audience
- Users (often illiterate) of the Bible. Is app

Judging Criteria
- How you make the app more accessible to basic users
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
