Welcome to the IBM - DSW Mobile Seller Application Concept Design Challenge

This challenge is focused on creating new design concepts/visual ideas for IBM - DSW Mobile Seller Application. We are looking for you to provide design concepts and click-paths. We want to focus on iOS interactions and creating a modern mobile application.
In this challenge we are looking for DESIGN CONCEPTS on how this Mobile Application could work. What should the user see and experience when using the application?

IBM - DSW Mobile Seller Application Concept Design on Mobile Screen Size contains all required screens with updated checkpoint feedback


Imagine that an IBM Seller is in the back of a cab en-route to a customer meeting and needs to check on the status of the customer bid/quote.  This app will make it easy for them to check for that information, with minimal clicks -- giving the seller fast access to the customer information via an easy to use, slick mobile app.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our the look and feel also suggest the User Experience.

Branding Guidelines:
- Required Screen Sizes:
-- Tablet Standard Size: 780px x 1024px
-- Mobile Standard Size: 320px x 480px OR iPhone 6 Size: 750px x 1334px
- Color Theme : Reflecting Attached Color Palette (color-palette.png)
- Fonts: Helvetica Neue is preferred. Another consideration fonts should have similar look with Helvetica Neue like Liberation Sans or Open Sans
- Design Style: Clean and Professional Look

Design Concept Goals:
- This application will be an iOS native application. Taking into account that it should allow for swipe, accelerometer, GPS, all the advantages that comes with the performance of native apps.
- The application should be easy to fun and ease to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!
- We want application show MODERN design!
- Use shape format on every graphic element inside your .psd so we not lose quality when resize into Retina version.
- Challenge winner will responsible create Tablet Portrait look (780px width)

0. Main Navigation
- Think how main navigation designed for both Tablet and Mobile layout
- Current main navigation need show up in applications are:
-- Home
-- Messages
-- Feedback
-- Settings
- For Messages menu, we need show up numbers indicator that will alert user for unread messages
- For Mobile version, we need icons for each sidebar menu

1. Login Page
- Create login page that showing these following fields:
-- Intranet ID
-- Password
- How the validation error message look?
- Add an application title on this page “DSW Mobile - IBM Seller Application”
- Include IBM logo in Login page design

2. IBM Seller needs to view quotes and the status of quotes created via SQO web.

- After logged in, users need able to see quick summary and quick search for Quotes/Bid.
- How the landing page should designed? Any other information should added to the page?

3. IBM Seller has the ability to search for quotes/bids.

- Currently we have 4 ways to find quotes/bids:
-- Search Input
-- All Quotes
-- Favorite Quotes
-- Recent Quotes
- Search input need ability for type ahead searching for Customer and Quote Number value
- How the type ahead design look?
- Show us how Search Result should designed.
- Notice there’s different statuses for Quotes/Bid. What the best way to show them in every Quotes/Bid?
- Read dsw-wireframes.pdf > page 2 for additional content needed in page

4. IBM Seller has the ability to filter/sort quotes.

- Currently we have 4 ways to filter/sort quotes:
-- By Status
-- Date
-- Country
-- Sort
- Match each filter/sort options content
- How do you represent new look and feel for filter/sort quotes
- Need clear way to indicate the selected option
- Create separate screen show different states

5. IBM Seller has the ability to flag quotes as favorites.

- For each quotes we need ability to easily set quotes as favorites
- After set quotes as favorites, related quotes will automatically move to Favorite Quotes page
- Favorite icon need active/inactive style

5: IBM Seller has the ability to clear  favorite quotes and recent quotes.

- Favorite quotes and Recent Quotes have a Clear button. When you tap that button a message should display (Confirmation message look)
- Show way to clear Favorite Quotes and Recent Quotes in those separate screen

6. IBM Seller has the ability to view system messages.

- Message page divided by some groupings:
-- System message, this message type will need show alert/information related application system
-- Favorite Quote Notification, this message type inform user about their Quotes status
-- Response to Feedback/Question, this message type take to separate page
- Unread message indicated by bold text and read message with regular text
- Click message will take user to message details
- For Response to Feedback/Question, there will be “Feedback” and “Help” menu options
- Show separate screen showing the flow

7. IBM Seller has the ability to delete favorite quote notifications & responses to feedback/questions notifications.

- We need a way to delete messages
- There’s options to delete all or delete selected item

8. IBM Seller has the ability to view Quote Additional Information

- This detail screen show up after user click one of Quote
- There’s a pagination in the bottom to let user view all additional information
- We also need show up expand/collapse state for Quote Number
- Match content from related document
- Think how each content displayed to let user easy to digest the informations

Target User:
- More than 14K world wide IBM sellers would take advantage of the suite of DSW mobile app's and could recognize significant time savings when closing business.

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Your design should possible to build and make sense as a mobile application
- Please keep in mind that the users of this application will be IBM professionals - the look should be corporate more than fun

Submission & Source Files:

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
