Challenge Overview

Welcome to the "IBM - Discount Mobile Apps HTML Prototype Challenge". The goal of this challenge is to create mobile HTML5 Prototype application based on provided storyboards for client. The prototype must follow best practices for HTML application so we can easily develop the prototype as hybrid application both in android and iphone in the next phase. Please see more details below.

The main task of this project is to create the UI Prototype based on the provided Storyboard design by re-use existing best practices look and feel also the functions of HTML5 mobile.

This UI Prototype will use Responsive Design solution that will works within Mobile Platform. You must use mobile web HTML5 best practices so it will looks good in targetted device. Read more details for UI Prototype Requirements and Flow below.

As part of this challenge you will need to document all HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript code. We need clear explanation of the code to help us figure all the HTML5/CSS3/JS code functions and make it easier for future developers and the client to understand what you have built. 

Tips for Success: Asking questions early and getting Copilot or PM's feedback is very important for the success of this challenge.

Competition Task Overview:
The main task of this competition is to develop HTML5 prototype based on the provided storyboard designs. Your prototype must work properly in all the required browsers. We're only concern about mobile browser since this apps will run in mobile devices like iPhone 5 above and Android.

Required Pages:
01. Cover/Splash Screen
- Reference screen iphone1_a_Splash.png.
- This screen is the entrance of the application after user click/tapped the application icon launcher.
- This screen will appear for few seconds before login screen appear. Make sure to show this screen properly before login screen appear.

02.Login Screen
- Reference Screen iphone1_b_Login.png, iphone1_c_Login_input.png, iphone1_d_Login_loading, and iphone1_e_Login_invalid.png.
- Before able to use the application, user needs to login first using their IBM credential to the apps.
- Apps will authenticate user credential first to make sure their login account is correct or incorrect.
- If user login using invalid account, error scenario will showed up. 

03. Dashboard Screens
- Reference Screens iphone2_a_Dashboard_map_view.png, iphone2_a_Dashboard_map_view_tap.png, iphone2_b_Dashboard_list_view_by_distance.png, iphone2_b_Dashboard_list_view_by_popularity.png, iphone2_c_Dashboard_select_category.png, iphone2_d_Dashboard_change_location.png, iphone2_e_Dashboard_sort_by.png, iphone2_f_Dashboard_settings.png.
- There are 2 view available in dashboard, map and list view, by default, map view will showed up.
- Use google map for the map view.
- There are several bubble icons that needs to be put in the map view, each icons have their own meaning (restaurants, store, health centre, gym, etc), right now, duplicate the same icons like currently shown in the storyboard.
- The blue dots indicates user current location (iphone2_a_Dashboard_map_view.png).
- Touch/Tap one of the bubble icon location will open popup about store/places short information. Touch the information will bring user to store details screen. 
- In list view, user can show the list result via several criteria, using sorting by.
- If user want to change category, they can do it by tap/touch category section, it will then show list of category in modal window.
- User can change their references about distance (miles/kilometres) or sort by (distance/popularity) in the dashboard.

04. Store Details Screens
- Reference Screens iphone3_a_Store.png, iphone3_b_Store_liked.png, iphone3_c_Store_more.png, iphone3_d_Store_more_scrolled.png
- This screen will show details information about the store that user wants to go.
- By default, Address, phone, what kind of discount available for IBM employee available in the store, and how many employee like the store informations will be available here.
- For more informations, user needs to touch/tap "More Details" link in the screen.
- User can like/dislike the store to give review by touch/tap the "heart" icon.

05. Search Screens
- Reference Screens iphone4_a_Search.png, iphone4_a_Search_auto_complete.png, iphone4_b_Search_results_map_view.png, iphone4_c_Search_results_list_view_by_distance.png, iphone4_c_Search_results_list_view_by_popularity.png.
- User can search any location or store from this screen.
- When user input some text in the search textbox, there will be autocomplete features help them to find location.
- Search result can be shown via 2 ways, map or list view.

Specific HTML/CSS/JavaScript Requirements:
HTML/CSS Requirements:
- Your HTML code must be valid HTML5 and follow best practices
- Validate your code - reviewers may accept minor validation errors, but please comment your reason for any validation errors. Use the validators listed in the scorecard.
- Use CSS to space out objects, not clear/transparent images (GIFs or PNGs) and use proper structural CSS to layout your page. Only use table tags for tables of data/information and not for page layout.
- No inline CSS styles - all styles must be placed in an external style-sheet.
- Use semantically correct tags - use H tags for headers, etc. Use strong and em tags instead of bold and italic tags.
- Element and Attribute names should be in lowercase and use a "-" or camel naming to separate multiple-word classes (i.e.. "main-content", or "mainContent)
- Label all CSS, JavaScript, or HTML hacks with explanations so others will understand.
- Your code must render properly in all browsers listed in the scorecard in both Mac and PC environments.

JavaScript Requirements:
- All JavaScript used must not have any copyrights to any third party. You are encouraged to use your own scripts, or scripts that are free, publicly available and do not have copyright statements or author recognition requirements anywhere in the code.
- You are allowed to use JQuery for this contest.

- Firefox, Safari Mobile & Chrome Mobile Browsers
- Android Browser.
