Challenge Summary

Welcome to IBM – IMDB Mobile Design Challenge. The primary purpose of AMS - IBM Inventory Mgmt. Database is to act as a repository to house oncall and production application information for all platforms within AMS. This will allow AMS the luxury of maintaining their own oncall data and one stop shopping for application information. The database is designed to contain a profile for each user. This profile section contains employee personal data and access is restricted.

Application Description:
The Inventory Management Database keeps all the information about each application, and who to contact if something goes wrong. This database helps the support team quickly find the right contact when a problem occurs. We are looking to create a mobile version of this application, so that people can find this information even when they are on-the-go.

Required Screen Sizes:
- Mobile Standard Size: 320px x 480px OR iPhone 6 Size: 750px x 1334px

Design Goals:
- Think how quickly the user can find what he is looking for?
- The application should be easy to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions!
- We are looking for Modern mobile designs including best UI practices, make sure the application is visually appealing.
- We are looking for a responsive design to adapt to different smartphones screen sizes and resolutions. 

User Flow:
- Dan opens the application and view the list of apps available.
- Dan should have the ability to export view to Excel for manipulation/reporting.
- Dan clicks on an App in the list and redirected to Application Document View.
- From Application Document View Dan can view:
-- General Information Section, here Dan can view general information about the App.
-- Online and Support Section, here Dan can view start and end times of support.
-- Contact Information Section, here Dan can view contact information and send an email or call the contact.

Storyboard Requirements:
- We would like you to suggest features/screens that this app should incorporate:

1) Splash Screen View:
- Page 1 in about-the-app.pdf
- The user opens the application and sees a branded splash screen.
- The critical thing to have here is the list of all applications – with the primary contact and the project manager.
- The O/C, V, A, C, and P columns can be dropped.
- If the user clicks on an App in the list he will be redirected to Application Document View.
- User should have the ability to export view to Excel for manipulation/reporting.

2) Application Document View:
- Page 3 in about-the-app.pdf
- The user will have the following options to select from for each app:
-- General Information Section
-- Online and Support Section
-- Contact Information Section

3) General Information View:
- Page 4 in about-the-app.pdf
- The user will be able to view the following data:
-- App Full Name
-- App Acronym
-- Detailed description of the application

4) Online and Support Section View:
- Page 5 in about-the-app.pdf
- From this view the user should be able to view start and end times of:
-- Online availability
-- Supported online availability
- The user can also view any additional comments.

5) Contact Information View:
- Page 6 in about-the-app.pdf
- User should be to view the following information:
-- Title
-- Name
-- Additional Information
- User should be email and call those contacts.

Important:
- Keep things consistent; all graphic styles should work together.

Target Audience:
This database is used by:
- The Application Support team to contact application support for production issues.
- The AMS Service Delivery Coordinator uses the database to locate contact information in the event of a Major Incident or for recovery following unexpected events such as power failures.
- The Quality team also uses the database for identifying the applications that require PA reviews.

Judging Criteria:
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Creativity, user experience and ease-of-use around exploring the org chart is key to the success as it must be engaging to the employee.

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
