Tobacco websites around the world have a gateway on their front page to prevent people below the allowed smoking age (typically 18 or 21) from accessing the site. In some regions all that is required for access is to enter a date of birth, but in others the site should verify your identity.

For this challenge we’d like your ideas about two problems:
- The first is that the harder it is for a user to enter their details and get verified the more likely they are to click away, so we need a design that makes data entry as engaging as possible.
- The second challenge is to come up with a way of verifying a user’s date of birth. Can you do this with a social media profile or is there another way to do this? Be creative!

Design Considerations:
- Looking for modern, intuitive user interface - application should be easy to use.
- Focus on the design being a great user experience
- Give importance to the overall layout and think on how a user would interact with the content on the page.
- Show all the screens and provide a user flow/click-path, so we can see how the interactions fit together in the application
- Stock Photos: Feel free to use any images related to this site..
- Design can be of size 1024px width and height as required.

Design and Branding Guidelines:
- We would like you to follow the colors and design styles found in this website: http://montecristo.com/

Required Designs:

A. Problem 1 - sites that need only a date of birth

Take a look at the landing page on these sites:
https://www.marlboro.com/gconnect/login_input.action
http://davidoff.com/

- Above sites don’t grab the user and make them want to enter the site and they don’t feel like a modern user experience.
- Come up with an interesting but easy way for the user to enter their date of birth..
- Feel free to grab the contents from above sites but please DO NOT COPY their logo or any branding!

B.
Problem 2 - sites that verify the user details

Now, have a look at these sites:
http://www.lambert-and-butler.co.uk/
https://www.bensonandhedges.co.uk/verification

These sites require the user to enter more data, so they can verify their date of birth.
- Come up with a way to do that verification (only Date of birth need to be verified) and make the design as easy and appealing to use as you can.
- There could be lot of ways to verify the Date of birth, if you choose to use social networking for your login show us how that will look, would it help fetch users data and verify date of birth (or) through Electoral register would that help in verifying DOB? or any other way to verify user's DOB...looking for your ideas!
- And check that the terms and conditions of your chosen site (social networking/ electoral / any other means) doesn’t prohibit use with tobacco sites..
- Note that as tobacco sites do not include e-commerce the use of credit cards as a means of user verification is not allowed.
- Feel free to recommend any ideas you have!

Target Audience:
- Adult smokers only

Judging Criteria
How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
Cleanliness of your graphics and design
Your design should be possible to build
Explain how user verification will happen
How well you minimise the number of clicks required to complete the process and so get the user to the content as quickly and easily as possible
