Challenge Summary

Welcome to Finance Academy Career Path Comparison Wireframe Concepts challenge. The ultimate aim of this wireframe concept is to come up with thoughts on how employees within a company get to visualize or know list of positions they can achieve in this company, in other words how they can grow their career within the company.

We are looking for wireframe (Axure) solutions based on requirements from our client. We’re also looking to the community to come up with interesting ideas for the workflow - we’re absolutely open to creative solutions!

At the end of this wireframe challenge, we are looking to have a complete solution for the user experience and flow of the application.

Round 1

Initial Wireframe Concepts of the below scenarios for checkpoint review.

- Version 1
- and if you have time, please try to submit your concepts for Version 2!

Any additional features or screens that will help explain your idea.

Round 2

Final Wireframe Concepts for all given requirements with any checkpoint feedback implemented.
Any additional features or screens that will help explain your idea.

For this challenge, your wireframe is expected to provide solutions for couple of important scenarios:
- Employee visualizes their current position in the company
- Employee views a comparison of job paths and views more details i.e. programs/qualifications required to achieve each of the positions.

Wireframe Expectations:
- You must create traditional wireframe call-outs and notes
- Provide us with your interaction and click-path thoughts and suggestions
- Produce HTML click-through wireframes that can be used to demonstrate all mentioned functionalities as required in each round.
- The website must be very easy to use and intuitive. Keep that in mind when create your solution for the layout and flow information.
- You MUST cover all requirements mentioned in challenge details below.
- Use note pane in every single page you design to explain what items are addressed in that page from the documentation, what things you added/changed/removed, use it to make your idea clearer and help the client to give you constructive feedback.
- Please go through the attached "Policy Compliance Guidelines.pdf", general advice is that a site needs to be able to be navigated by screenreaders and keyboard only users, not all given points are relevant to wireframes, please make sure to use any specific guidelines that are appropriate for wireframes.

Wireframe Standards:
Client has provided couple of axure files, one is a page template which helps you understand their current standards and other one is a rplib (axure library) file which you can import and use elements in your work.

Existing Problem:
Current limitations in clients company, doesn’t allow employees to know their current position in the career paths and also the programs, experience and qualifications required in order to achieve better position in the company.

Solution:
We are looking to solve this problem by having a system in place that helps them know/understand where they are in their career path within this company and procure essential qualifications to achieve better positions within the company.

Scenario:
- Jim is a new employee at clients company, works as a ‘consultant’ in payroll division.
- As an employee, he would like to know his prospects within this company i.e. how he can see/achieve better positions within this company?
- He comes to know about the Career Path Comparison tool in their company’s intranet website which helps him visualize career paths.
- He logs in to the company intranet, view his current position against positions in other divisions.
- He is able to visualize on how he can progress both vertically within that division or move horizontally to other divisions.
- He really loves the option of interacting with each of positions within this career path!
- He clicks on a position and sees more details on what ‘Functional Capabilities, Leadership Capabilities, Education, Certifications, Preferred Experience’ required to achieve this and also sees other development activities/programs the company offers to achieve a particular position..
- He loves the idea of being able to compare his current position details (qualifications, experience and other programs/development activities) against all other positions that he selected for comparison.

Required Wireframe:
We need below details to be furnished in your wireframe: How you approach the details within a page and any other navigational thoughts is up to you. Please refer to the contents from the attached excel to come up with your concepts.

We would like you to submit two versions of the same application, see each of the below versions for more details.

Version 1:
In this version, we would like to get your wireframe concepts based on the client supplied ideas as given in the attached excel file, though we still would like you to improve the overall user experience by making it more interactive!

“Career Pathways v2”: This gives you an idea on the flow we are trying to achieve... NOTE: only slides 3 and 4 are in scope for this challenge (these are the two screens available in excel as well) - please follow the excel file for content reference!

01 Career Path Dashboard:
- User should be able to visualize their current position and level within the company
- They will have the ability to view their position against all other position and see where they stand.
- You can find the band and career list in the attached PDF file.
- We are looking for your thoughts to how to make this more interactive to the user rather than just displaying the positions, and have an easy way to navigate/display the comparison (02 Comparison) data.
- For the “pinwheel” dashboard graphic that describes the four major areas (included in the attached Excel file and “Career Pathways v2”) we are looking for your ideas around how to make this information more intuitive/user friendly.
- User can choose the any number of positions in this view and click on a button to compare the selected positions against their current position.. (possibly take the user to comparison screen)..

- Looking for your thoughts on what else can be added to dashboard and how it can seamlessly work with the comparison functionality.

02 Comparison:
- A user will have the ability to choose the required divisions they want to compare.
- They will have option to choose the more positions in addition to what they selected in previous screen!
- Should be able to view/compare each of the job with their “Functional Capabilities, Leadership Capabilities, Education, Certifications, Preferred Experience” required in order to achieve a position..
- Allow them to click on a “x” button to view development plan opportunities and apply/enroll for different programs available within their company to improve their skills so as to move up in their career.
- We would like to see a clever way to represent this information that highlights the each of the capability comparison!

Version 2:
Sky's the limit for this version :) Come up with your out of the box solutions to the problem described above.

- Scope for this version is similar to the above version but we are looking an new approach other than the one given in Version 1..
- How do you think, a user gets to know his position within a company and also on where he currently stands when compared to other positions
- They should be able to view “Functional Capabilities, Leadership Capabilities, Education, Certifications, Preferred Experience” required in order to achieve a position..and allow these to be compared with other positions!
- How will they apply / enroll to different programs within the company to improve their skills?
- What are the likely/common career paths from my current point? Another starting point?
- We would like to make this very interactive, how can we do that?
- Suggest intuitive solutions, so as to keep things simple!
- What else do you recommend to make your solutions look unique from others?
