We are looking forward to your designs!

- My Route
- Account Details
- Map: What's Around Me?
Round 2
Please submit your final designs, after incorporating checkpoint feedback. Please include all screens and requirements mentioned in the spec.
Challenge Description:
The goal of this challenge is to design a mobile app for account sales reps of Ultra Car Parts - which will optimize the daily routes of the sales reps based on the locations and accounts that need service on a particular day. This needs to be a responsive HTML5 mobile app, based on Salesforce1 user interface methodologies. In the end, we are looking for an easy to use app, focused on a great user experience.
User Scenario:
- The end user of this mobile application (distributor route driver) calls on automotive repair shops (dealers) to supply custom automotive accessories that are re-sold to consumers. Many items in the product catalog are restocked by the route driver while other items are special delivered from the warehouse to the dealers when ordered.
- The route drivers will promote products & special offers to buyers at a dealer. The route drivers will also capture details about placement of competitive product offerings within the dealers’ sales area.
Sales Rep “My Route”:
- A Sales representative will open the app first thing in the morning and select “My Route”
- Each Account (including locations that require service) would be listed in order.
- Each account could have a series of tasks that need to be performed at each.
Task examples are: Pick up return parts, Re-stock item number 1-55352
- Rep should be able to drill down to the task level and mark as complete
Sales Rep “What’s Around Me”
- A sales rep has some free time and wants to see what is currently around them. They can click a link or button that says “What’s Around Me” this will open a map identifying Other Accounts, Prospects, or Competitors.
- The user can hover or click for more account specific detail and click to route to that location. Standard Google Maps turn by turn navigation opens from there
Design Considerations:
- The application should leverage where possible the style & design metaphors from Salesforce1 Style Guide that is published here: http://sfdc-styleguide.herokuapp.com/ A subsequent challenge will develop the HTML5 pages to match this design presumably using this opensource jQuery framework found here: https://github.com/joshbirk/onestarter
- Looking for modern, intuitive user interface. Focus on the design for a great user experience
- Give importance to the overall layout and think on how a user would interact with the content on the page.
- Show all the screens and provide a user flow/click-path, so we can see how the interactions fit together in the application
Color:
- The client colors are green: #62BB46, red: #ED1C29, black: #000000, white:#FFFFFF
- See attached client_colors.zip
Typography:
- The official Ultra Batteries typeface is IBS Akzidenz Grotesk, a variation of the Berthold foundry's Akzidenz-Grotesk. But, this font is not readily available, acceptable standard font substitutes are Helvetica, Futura and Arial.
-If you are using a serif font for your design, preferably use Serifa, Calvert or (use sparingly) Times New Roman.
Design Size:
- Please create your screens at 750px (width) by 1334 px (height)
- Keep in mind it is a responsive HTML5 app, needs to be optimized for different mobile sizes.
Considerations:
Please research similar apps, targeted at location/route optimization.
Required Screens:
We are looking for you to design the following screens, but they need not be structured as such - feel free to rearrange the content and navigation for the best possible user experience:
1. My Route
- List accounts in order, each account includes task details
- Map view of all accounts
- See above user scenario for details
- Task examples are: Pick up return parts, Re-stock item number 1-55352
2. Account Details
- Fields to be displayed are:
- Stop #
- Dealer #
- Contact Name
- Contact Phone Number
- Route Name
- Open Opportunities,
- Additional information
- AR Aging
- Account Type
- Notes
3. Task List Page
- List all tasks for this account with the ability to mark complete and comment on each task
- Tasks should be color coded by priority
4. Map Directions and Route to next Account
- Standard Google Maps routing and turn by turn directions
5. Map “What’s Around Me?”
- Display a Google Map to help a route driver answer the following questions:
What is around me?
- Competitors
- Prospects
- Other Accts
- User could filter for each item show them on a map
- Click each one for detail
- Click to route to selected item via a map
Target User:
- Account Sales Reps of Ultra Car Parts
Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Use of Google Maps
- Use of Salesforce1 Style Guide
