Challenge Description:
We currently have the client website and we are looking for you to provide a redesign for the website. There should be clearer step-by-step / walkthrough / guidance to help the customer through the entire process.

Examples: http://goo.gl/LDHVBO

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).

Branding Guidelines:
- Please refer the client website here for branding guidelines.

Design Goals:
- How should this web version look?
- Read the user story and decide what should the priority features be (what is the priority navigation for this user?)
- How quickly the user can find what he wants?
- The website should be easy to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!

Screen Sizes:
- Desktop: 1024px width and height as required.
- Mobile Resolution: Design for iPhone 6 Retina Display 750px x 1334px.
Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when resize for retina versions, graphic still look sharp! It will be great if you can provide the landscape version.

Supporting Documents:
- Dashboard Screenshots (Screenshots.zip).

Required Screens:
- We would like you to suggest features/screens that this app should incorporate
1- Customer Pre-registration Flow: (simplifysolar.com/start)
- Please refer to SimplifySolar_Start.png
- The customer is first prompted to enter his full address.
- A Google Maps zoomed-in image of the house is then brought up. (In the case that the correct address is not found, the customer should be able to pan and zoom in to his house.)
- There should be a Google Maps plug-in which will allow the customer to add pin(s) to show which roof sections he would like the solar panels to be installed on. (This information will be saved as part of the
customer’s “Energy Profile” and be used to design his system.)

- After this, the customer is then prompted to enter his desired savings (0% - 100%) on his energy bills with solar. This should be a slider with the default value at 50%.
- The current layout for the “Build My PV System” with the three package options (Platinum, Gold, Silver) and the comparison table have an updated wireframe already designed (see SimplifySolar_Start.png) which is, in our opinion, cleaner. We are relatively satisfied with the look, but are open to new layouts, especially if it would suit the proposed design language on this page and the Customer Dashboard better. We just want the customer to be able to see at a glance the different options and not overwhelm him/her but still have a good amount of information like we do in the comparison table. Again, to be clear, this section is NOT necessary to be included in a submission; only if you feel like you can significantly improve upon the current design and if it flows better with your proposed design.

2- Customer Dashboard Flow (simplifysolar.com/Customer/Dashboard.aspx)
- Please refer to SimplifySolar_CustomerDashboard.png
- After first logging on and visiting the dashboard, there will be a timeline at the top showing clearly all the steps in going solar. There will also be several portals along the left hand side of the page:

·       My Docs:

o   This is where all the documents, technical, financial, agreements with Simplify Solar, the installer, the financier, etc, all live.

·       My Home:

o   This is where the customer’s Energy Profile information (what he/she entered while registering) lives

o   The customer on this portal will also be able to upload design info to be reviewed by Simplify Solar.

·       My Installation:

o   This is where 1) the customer will be able to choose which local installers he/she would like to bid for his/her project, and 2) after their bids are submitted, which installer he/she would like to choose for the installation.

·       My Financing:

o   This where the the customer will be able to 1) find out which financing options he/she qualifies for, 2) select the option that works best for him/her, and 3) make payments.

·       My Monitoring:

o   This is where, after the installation is complete, the customer can monitor his energy usage and savings. Most likely, an API from our monitoring partner will be implemented in this section.

·       My Experience:

o   This is where, after the installation is complete, the customer can rate his experience.

- The customer should be prompted to pick amongst a network of local installers (in the My Installation module) or begin taking and uploading pictures to be used for the system design (in the My Home module).
- My Home: The first step for the customer is to upload the necessary design information so that Simplify Solar can design a system appropriate for his/her house. The necessary pieces of information are:

·       Structural:

o   Roof Age (yrs):

§  Options: 1-5; 6-10; 11-15; 16-24; 25+

o   Roof Type:

§  Options: Metal; Asphalt Shingle; Spanish Tiles; Flat; Other: _____

§  Pictures, at least two required; sample pics should be provided

o   Rafter/Truss Size:

§  Options: 2x4; 2x6; 2x8; 2x10; other: _____

§  Picture(s), at least one required; sample pics should be provided

o   Rafter/Truss Spacing:

§  Options: 12”; 16”; 20”; 24”; other: _____

§  Picture(s), at least one required; sample pics should be provided

o   Insulation?

§  Options: Y/N

·       Electrical

o   Meter:

§  Google Maps image of house to prompt customer to drop pin on location of meter

§  Picture(s), at least one required; sample pics should be provided

o   Main Breaker/Electrical Box:

§  Google Maps image of house to prompt customer to drop pin on location of meter

§  Pictures, at least two required; sample pics should be provided

Once these pieces of information are filled out and submitted to Simplify Solar, this section is checked off as completed.

- My Installation: The customer’s next step is to choose amongst local installers who will place a bid for the project. He/she will be prompted to go through all pre-approved local installers, read testimonials, etc., and choose up to three installers. Once the system has been designed and uploaded by Simplify Solar and bids from the installers are uploaded as well, he/she will then choose his/her final installation partner.

Note: Please don’t copy the current web version, as we need to make this version more usable and modern.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together including the look and feel we already have.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target User:
- Residential Homeowners in US, who are interested in solar and are looking for a simpler process to go solar.

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Creativity and ease-of-use is key to the success as it must be engaging to users.
