Challenge Overview

Horizon has an existing system that uses the React library (http://facebook.github.io/react/)  for defining the user interface of a television-based UI.  The current performance is not reaching the level they would like to see it, on the embedded system.  This assembly will be the first in a series to define specific React components that integrate with WebGL to help speed up the final UI for the system.  This assembly will implement a couple of basic React components and some demos showing how the components work.  Familiarity with WebGL and React will be helpful to complete this assembly.

The initial submission will target Google Chrome, but the winner will need to work with the copilot to make sure the submission also runs on a Raspberry Pi during final fixes.  Details on the Raspberry Pi system can be found in the forum.

NOTE: Reviewers should have a Raspberry Pi available for testing.

Bonus
Please see the Raspberry Pi details in the forum.  Reviewers will be reviewing your submission both in Google Chrome and on a Raspberry Pi B+.  If you want to use the same system, installation details for the software, as well as a disk image, will be available in the forum.

The submission that meets the large requirements and performs the best on the Raspberry Pi B+ system used during review will receive an additional $350 bonus.

Placement does not affect this bonus, so it is conceivable that a submission may win the bonus but not 1st place in the challenge.

Detailed requirements

The detailed requirements and Raspberry Pi system image are available in the forum.
