Seed is an app to help you save for retirement. Every purchase you make with your debit/credit card will be rounded up to the next dollar. That “rounded up” amount will be transferred to your retirement account and tracked via the Seed app.

Description of Assignment
Design a clean and modern app to track your savings for retirement as well as add a level of gamification to it. We are looking for your best UX and UI designs and ideas. What are some innovative ways to handle mobile navigation that is both clean and user friendly. We’ve included an Inspiration document that will give you a good idea of what the client is expecting. Use these examples as a guide to start thinking about interactions, layout, general look and feel, and design style. DON’T COPY, we are looking for your original and innovative ideas and designs.

Young people will begin to save for retirement and have these saving habits easily implemented into their daily lives.

Elements to Retain
There currently is not a brand, but we’ve created an Inspiration Document that contains examples of the types of designs we are expecting to see. There is also suggested colors in there.
Design Requirements
iOS iPhone 5: 1136 x 640px at 326ppi
Target Audience
Millennials (people born between 1980 and 2000)

Deliverables
Screen 1 - Landing/Login
Simple login screen for the app. Should include branding and logo for the app. As well as:
- Username
- Password
- Create Account button/link
- Forgot password/username button/link
Screen 2 - Progress Tracker
The project tracker screen is used to monitor/view your savings history. This screen should show a few specific things:
- Your status (gold, silver, bronze)
- How many points you’ve accrued
- What your projected savings are at retirement
- Main graph to view savings history
- Ability to view different time periods (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, etc.)
Screen 3 - Transaction History
A simple table or graph that shows your previous transactions. Think of smart and effective ways to filter and refine the view of these transactions. Are there Filter buttons, alternate views of the table, etc?
Screen 4 - Rank
This screen is broken into 2 sections Groups and Individuals. What is the best way to view this? Is it a tab structure, a long scroll page with anchor links? Think about the best mobile UX practices. Clicking on a Group title will take you to the Group screen (Screen 5). This page also needs to include:
- Your current rank overall. This is your standard rank out of everyone that you are connected with/follow.
- Ability to see an individual’s Name, rank, and savings-to-spending ratio
Screen 5 - Groups
Clicking on a Group Name from the Rank screen (Screen 4) brings you to the Groups screen. From this screen you can see:
- Your rank within this specific group
- The members of this group, their ranking and savings/spending
- Ways to message people in your group
Screen 6 - Reward Tracker
This is where you can monitor your current rewards that you are eligible for based on your saving activity.
- Your current reward points
- How many points you need to reach the next level
- Available rewards that you are eligible to receive based on your current points
- Should show how many points each reward “costs”
- Maybe tapping on a reward opens it in an overlay that has more information and button to “Purchase” reward
Branding Guidelines
Use the Inspiration Document while designing. It includes examples of what we are looking for as well as suggested colors. There isn’t a logo, so just use “Seed” in a simple sans serif typeface.
Judging Criteria
- How well does your design align with the objectives of the challenge
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Overall Design and User Experience.
Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Please upload PNG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above. Number and Name your files appropriately to aid in the review process. This is very important.
Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors
