Challenge Summary
Welcome to the Robot Logo Design Challenge. We are looking for a creative design for a "robot" logo for our new startup that works on open source strategy and implementation around advanced open technologies (e.g., big data, cloud, and etc.). Your logo should be simple, eye catching, fun, quirky, and clean representation of a "robot.”
We're looking forward to seeing your creative designs for our logo.
Round 1
Round One (1) - Submit your design for Checkpoint feedback:
- Logo.
- Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the client.
Round 2
Round Two (2) - Final Design plus any Checkpoint feedback:
- Final Logo.
- Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the client.
Challenge Description:
The goal of this challenge is to create a “Robot” logo, you are provided with a template to follow, and with client logo references.
Supporting Documents:
- Template (Logo Template_v4 2.ai.zip)
Logo Requirements:
- We would like it to be: fun, niche, modern, clean, quirky, etc. We are open to how you interpret it.
- We are looking for something fresh that explains the concept of “advanced open technologies”. Think big data, cloud, open source, etc.
- Create a "robot" logo that signifies a synergy between open source cloud, big data and other advanced technology.
- Color is open, but it should feel modern and clean, but not expected.
- Please use the attached template to showcase your logos! (includes layout instructions.)
- Font is open to the designers, DO NOT include any font files in your submission or source files.
- Designs must be created as VECTOR artwork so they can be resized without a loss of quality. Make sure your logo quality is not diminished when scaled up or down.
- The logo should grasp the message of the logo design within three seconds of the first glimpse.
- Your logo should be easy to read in small sizes. Refer to the Template file to demonstrate this.
- You need make sure your logo looks okay above light or dark background by submitting them in white and black backgrounds. (Use included Template file)
- Submit one version of AI/EPS (source) logo file with text intact (not outlined) and another version of AI/EPS logo file with text in outlined format.
Required Logos:
- We would like to have few version of logo designs..
- Please look to include a single page with all the below versions of logo's for review (you need to use the attached template)
1) Logo/Icon:
- Create a stylized "robot" icon or logo that relates to the strategy and implementation around advanced technologies.
- Create a black and white version and a also a color version of this icon.
2) Logo with Logotype:
- Create a version of your logo and pair it with the name of the site "BOT".

Judging Criteria:
- Relevance: Does your logo convey the meaning of the name?
- Quality: Does your logo look fresh, professional and clean? Is the composition/layout well done?
- Have you used typography in a meaningful way?
Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG image files based on contest submission requirements stated above.
Source Files
All original VECTOR source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Illustrator or similar and saved as layered AI or EPS file. Your source files must meet these requirements:
1) The AI/EPS logo file with text intact (not outlined).
2) The AI/EPS logo file with text in outlined format.
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.
