Welcome to "IBM - Media Library Splash Screen Design Challenge". In this challenge we are looking for your help to create the best, very simple... clean and engaging splash screen design for the "Media Library" application. The designs should follow the IBM branding and should be engaging to the viewer. This is the first impression the viewer will have of this application and we want it to be thoughtul and appealing.

Challenge Details
Media Library is a mobile application built on IBM enterprise standards, policies, and best practices. it provides file repository for various of file types (document, video, image, etc) belong to IBM employees that being shared within the apps.

The focus of this challenge is on creating a great Media Library Splash Screen. 

Challenge Goals
- Deliver splash screen designs for Media Library application
- The splash screen should feel like IBM, and work within iOS and Android design patterns. Consider using IBM colors, icons, branding, etc. within iOS and Android design patterns. (think about the use of color.. look at IBM design language)
- This is the first impression the user will have of the app. It should be eye catching and engaging.
- Include any animation suggestions and/or design patterns that give feedback to the user that the app is loading in the background.
- Note: We want to promote a sense of brand/consistency for the Media Library application

Screen Requirements - SPLASH SCREEN
- A Loading screen that gives a great first impression to the user.
- The Splash screen should work (color scheme) with the application.
- Your design can have more of an OS agnostic UI design (doesn't need to follow iOS or Android guidelines)
- Follows the IBM Design Language (learn this!)
- We're thinking, light, airy, simple, but engaging, connotating the mobile media library concept.  This will be a view-only graphic that displays momentarily while the app and login page load.

Design Pattern Requirements:
- Create your designs at 640 x 1136px. This is for both iOS, Android and Hybrid versions
- Review the existing Media Library screens - This will give you a good idea of what the rest of the application looks like and how a user interacts with the application.

Branding Guidelines:
- Use the current designs as a guide. However, we want the Splash Screen that you are designing to be impressive and eye catching.
- We are excited to see what you create!

Judging Criteria:
- How well you design the splash screen and how well it fits in with the IBM branding
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Design and User Experience.

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload JPG/PNG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above. 

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
