Project Overview

This project is going to implement an Offline Form by using Microsoft Excel and VB script.

Competition Task Overview

This challenge is a MS Excel based challenge.  Participants will need to update and implement a few Macro's for making a form user friendly in MS Excel.  The person will also need to use VBA for Excel in updating and creating form functionality, although it is only a few fields / areas in the form.

Following are the summary about the input documents (posted in forum) that you need to review and start working.

  • Offline Form Requirements_TC_Developer Challenge2.docx
    • This document contains all of the requirements to be met for this contest. The large majority of items in this document are crossed out meaning they are already met. We need the communities help in completing the remaining items that are not crossed out in this document, please also make sure the implemented items are not broken.
  • Offline Form Development Contest1.xlsm
    • This is the form from the previous contest with some additional updates by client. Community members will update this form based on the requirements document above.
  • Product Types by Division.xlsx
    • This document contains the information for one of the requirements where there is a dependency on Division for the proper display of Product Type
  • Event Import Offline Form.xlsx
    • we would like this form to be added as another tab into the "Offline Form Development Contest1.xlsm" document. Please make sure each field from "Offline Form Development contest1.xlsm" must have a corresponding field on the "Event Import Offline Form.xlsx". The data selected and/or entered in the "Offline Form Development Contest1.xlsm" should be mapped / copied to the "Event Import Offline Form" tab that was copied over from the file provided.
  • Field Names and Design Names March 2015.xlsx
    • Information needed for completing the "Event Import Offline Form.xlsx" propely. Each field has a corresponding Design Name.
  • Reliance 10.0 Office Integration User Guide.doc
    • Information needed to understand how to implement the "Field Names and Design Names March 2015.xlsx" information. Excel information for office integration begins on Page 26 of the Office Integration document.
  • Just a few updates to the "Event Import Offline Form" to add design names to fields that are missing these. PM will provide these names to the community.  It is a part of Office Integration and I will provide instructions on how to do this for anyone that is not familiar with it.  The instructions are pretty clear with visual pictures and steps.
  •  Fix the drop down list macro's for all drop downs so that when I click on a drop down list, the list displays. This should happen regardless of whether there is a value in the field or the field is blank.  User should then be able to click the drop down and change selected value if necessary.
