Welcome to the Avnet Branding - Ideas Never Rest - Ideation Challenge.

The goal of this challenge is generate ideas for a Mobile experience that will help educate and extend the Avnet brand through the integrated brand campaign “Ideas Never Rest.” We are looking for interesting concepts on how we can introduce more people to Avnet and our global brand in conjunction with our global “Ideas Never Rest” campaign. We are thinking a mobile application might be modern and an easy avenue for introducing more people to Avnet and what our brand stands for: innovative, technology experts, customer-centric and trusted advisors. Is it possible to entice current and future customers and current and future employees to download an application (your app idea!) and experience more of Avnet and our brand using the theme, “Ideas Never Rest”?

Important Rule Challenge for this Ideation Challenge
You are allowed to submit your ideas at any time during this challenge. You are allowed to submit to the final phase even if you did not submit to the checkpoint phase. All ideation submissions will be accepted (that pass screening). Note: while we are allowing this challenge to be "open" throughout we do recommend you submit to the checkpoint so we can review and provide valuable feedback. Good luck!

Ideas Never Rest
- Global integrated brand campaign with tagline “Ideas Never Rest.”.
- Centered around Progress - Avnet is the key to getting ideas to the next level by showing where people thought a technology was going and where it actually ended up (see sample ad concept).
- The integrated campaign will use print, digital and social as well as an accompanying internal campaign.

Challenge Objective
New ideas! Mobile application ideas! Fun and engaging ideas! Think of an idea that will engage, or challenge potential users when using the Avnet “Ideas Never Rest” mobile application.

The value of the app to a user could be entertainment (think viral!) or informative through the use of gamification or presentation of information in a new way. We want the user to not only download the app and use it once, but give them a reason to come back and use it again.

Who?
Given the breadth of the campaign, the audiences could include current and potential customers, key technology decision makers, current employees, potential employees…

Emotional Goal
The widespread audience lends itself to an application that creates an emotional connection to the Avnet brand and “Ideas Never Rest.” Specifically, when using the app, we want people to think, “Wow, Avnet is really innovative, technology experts, customer-centric and a trusted advisor!” (Avnet’s brand attributes).

Guidelines for your Submission
We are looking for ideas - but we also need a structure to your ideas so we can understand them and make it easier when reviewing.

Deliverables
1) High level overview/statement of the idea: one or two sentences describing your idea.
2) Description of idea: one or two paragraphs describing your idea.
3) Details: present any detailed description, use case scenario, wireframes or designs/images to better explain and pitch your idea.
4) Pitch: Imagine trying to sell your idea - look to present your solution in a professional manner/package.

Details: this section will detail should include at least one (1) use case scenario.
- A use case scenario is a walkthrough example of how the idea would work in real life.
- Diagram this, draw this, wireframe or design it - but we need insight into how your idea would work.

Important Note: Although there are no limit to number of submissions you can upload, you should only upload multiple submissions if each one is substantially different from your others. Within these constraints, you are free to describe any number of alternative approaches and extra features. In fact, we encourage you to do so. You can't have too many ideas.

Judging Criteria:
- Feasibility of your idea for mobility
- Avnet branding is strategically included
- Idea scenario coverage and detail
- User experience/engagement focus
- Presentation/pitching of the idea

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image

Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x768 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
- You can take screenshot of your idea document and submit it.
- You can provide a blank image file and use it as preview image.

Submission Files
All original source files of the submitted ideas, it can be PNG, JPG, PDF, HTML, DOC, TXT or RTF file.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted ideas, it can be AI, PSD, PDF, HTML, DOC, TXT or RTF file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to complete one round of minor changes to ensure your submission meets the stated requirements of this challenge.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
