Challenge Summary

Welcome to "Location Based Analytics Visualization Design Concepts Challenge". For this challenge, we want the community to come up with the initial design concepts for a responsive, HTML5-based Location Based Analytics application. This app will parse through data from several inputs (wifi, social media, mobile, etc.) and integrate it with transactional information to generate reports for our end users.

In this challenge we are looking for design solutions and ideas on how this Location Based Analytics application could look and work. What should the user see and experience when using this responsive, HTML5 application?

We look forward to seeing your creative designs!

Round 1

Responsive HTML5 designs (iPad size only) for the following screens :
01. Dashboard Screen
02. Location Details Screen
Please include any notes to help explain your design concepts

NOTE: See the wireframes and design direction doc (attached) to understand the screens / functionality needed for the Location Based Analytics Visualization application. If anything is unclear, please ask for clarification on the forum and we will be happy to help!

Round 2

All screen requirements as stated in challenge details with client feedback applied
Responsive HTML5 designs (iPad and Desktop size) for the following screens:

Challenge Overview:

This challenge will be used to build the design foundation for the Location Based Analytics app. By parsing through data obtained from wi-fi and mobile platforms and integrating that with transactional information, the Location Based Analytics application will be able to generate analytics on customer traffic and movement throughout a retail location. With this data the user can optimize customer interactions and operations, and can unlock:

- Onsite Insights: Understanding the profile of the customer and their behavior within a retail location
- Dynamic Targeting: Marketing specific products based on the profile of the customer and their behavior patterns

Essentially, a user (store manager, marketing professional, etc.) will be able to use this app to monitor visitors/customers within a retail location. They can see where users are within that location as well as view their transaction data (what they are buying, how much, etc.). This in turn gives the user great insights into their customers and allows them to directly target specific customers or groups of customers with specific advertisements and promotions directly related and of interest to them. The Location Based Analytics app is the dashboard and tool to monitor that data and initiate those advertisements.

Challenge Goals:

We are looking for a dashboard to provide intuitive visualizations that will help the user:
- Map out and track user activity using location based data
- Enable the use of targeted advertising
---- The user should be able to send specific advertising campaigns and/or assets based on the visualizations and data that they are seeing in the dashboard
---- The user should also have the ability to send offers to a customer(s) based on their transaction data and/or location in a retail location
---- Initiate and/or tweak campaigns to provide content anywhere, anytime and on any device
Combine the customer's transactional and interaction data to improve store operations (onsite insights) and conversion ratios (dynamic targeting)
- Accessible insight & analytics: Every interaction connected to an event, offer, subscription or download provides additional data that allows for quick marketing segmentation and a holistic view of customer behavior
- Focus on how the UI/UX and information can help the user understand the data visualizations instantly.
- How is the user navigating between screens as well as interacting with the data and visualizations?

Branding Guidelines:

- Please feel free to be creative and choose your own style for this challenge, we are more focus on the UI/UX parts for this one.
- Design should be futuristic and clean. The interface should be very intuitive and touch-based.
- The LBA application is going to be created as a responsive, HTML5 web application.
- Look at the Design Inspiration document we supplied for ideas around dashboards, graphs, maps and visualizations. This document also includes some graph/visualization interactions and animations that we think will be helpful for you to be thinking about while your designing.
- Create it for both iPad and Desktop sizes:
---- iPad: 2048 x 1536px
---- Desktop: 1280px with height adjusting according to content
---- NOTE: The Location Based Analytics application will be a responsive, HTML-based web app.  The main devices to target are iPad and Desktop (as listed above), but please consider how your screen design will look on various devices / screen sizes.

Screen Requirements:

01. Dashboard Screen
- The key screen for this application.
- Reference wireframe.pdf - These are our initial thoughts, but we feel it is still not showcasing some important functionality, especially around initiating advertisements and offers.
- Focus on creating a dashboard that will give our users the following information and insights:
---- Insight into customer traffic and movement across different/specific sections of a retail location in real-time
---- Visually see high concentrations of people in an area which can then be used for ad placements and staff planning
-------- The ability to initiate advertisements / offers to displays within that area and/or to individual customers

---- Help the user understand movement/flow of traffic within the store
---- Consolidated sales information for a specific day. Ability to dive deeper and view data on specific times within that day. Compare data from multiple days / weeks to gain deeper insights
---- Showcase the results of campaign or offer. How many customers where engaged, made a purchase, etc.

- Each area/module within the dashboard should have the ability to link off to a different screen/view. This will allow the user to view more detailed and granular data, visualizations, etc. We are not specifically asking for what all these "in-depth" screens look like, but if you have unique UX/UI ideas on how to handle this we would love to see them.

02. Location Details Screen
The user should have the ability to click on a high level location data visualizer on the 01. Dashboard Screen to view  more detailed granular information and visualizations. This screen should contain these features:
- Look at customer distribution / traffic / transaction traffic. The ability to cross reference and look at these data streams together or separately.
- Showcase generic profiles of customers in the store (High/Medium/Low value)
- Ability to draw a geo-fence and understand the users within the fence/area

NOTES:
- Please feel free to create any additional screens, interactions, states, etc. to strengthen your design concepts
- We are also expect to see your unique ideas on how to handle and present the data and visualizations. The supplied wireframes only show one method, we are open to others.
