Challenge Overview:
The goal of this challenge is to design a highly engaging and impressive looking AND functioning homepage screen for the Exponentials app. This will be the first thing that a user sees when he/she opens the app; it should be impressive and intriguing to the user. It should immerse them into the app and make them want to explore more.

Background Information:
Exponentials will serve as a tool to educate users and help them understand all the different exponential technologies; what they are, how they are impacting industries and are evolving over time. The app will create a natural, immersive user experience filled with visualizations and other dynamic and ever changing multi-media content. Think about how you interact with YouTube or Wikipedia. It’s very easy to just get lost in the content by clicking from video to video or article to article; this is the same experience we want for users of Exponentials.

Branding Guidelines:
- We’ve included a branding doc for Exponentials.
- The majority of your design styles will come from the supplied PSDs.

Design Requirements:
iPad resolution: 2048 x 1536px at 264dpi (length can extend to fit your designs).

Supporting Documents:
Source PSDs (Google Folder): All current screens to pull design assets from.
- Branding Doc: Color palette and fonts.
- Inspiration Doc: Idea and concepts that we've explored. Use these as inspiration only. DO NOT COPY.

Required Screens/ Views:
1) Homepage:
The homepage should have some kind of main interactive or visual component. Within that component there should be the ability to select one of 3 paths that takes the user deeper into the app:
1. Technologies: This what we have started and the areas that supplied PSDs focus on.
2. Industries: Similar to technologies, but will focus on the industries that exponential technologies are changing and effecting.
3. News: This will be a global news section that we will be designing in a future challenge.

As part of this challenge we are also looking for your suggestions and ideas on how to trigger or activate the same/similar functionality as the homepage from ANYWHERE in the app. This could be a global button (we currently have a placeholder Menu button in the PSDs, but this can change), a global gesture that triggers the interaction of selecting one of the 3 paths (technologies, industries or news), or an ever present visualization. Think outside the box and make it something that you would find interesting to use. Think of unique opportunities that are available on a mobile platform. However, keep in mind that whatever solution you propose should be rooted in GOOD UX and be intuitive and NOT overly complex in nature. Think about a simple but engaging experience.

The app homepage should be visually engaging, interactive and intuitive. It should impress the user and have a WOW factor to the overall look and experience. Will it be some sort of interactive object that the user can swipe and rotate to see different views? Or will touching different parts of the screen have a different type of interaction? This is a CONCEPTS challenge so feel free to think outside the box a little and show us your ideas.

2) Global Activation/ Trigger:
How can the user trigger or activate a similar functionality as the homepage from anywhere in the app? Is this a global gesture, button, or ever-present visual? Be creative and show us your ideas.

Target Audience:
Anyone who wants to learn about exponential technologies.

Judging Criteria:
You will be judged on:
-- How well does your design align with the objectives of the challenge.
-- Creativity of your visualizations.
-- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
-- Overall Design and User Experience.
