The Design Problem
Grace Health Network is a health insurance provider in the U.S Southwest region with a reputation for covering a range of alternative care options and providing a robust health education program. However, because Grace is a little different from other insurers in its market, it struggles to help customers understand the value of its services and how it works.

After conducting an audit of its customer experience using journey mapping, Grace’s CX team identified that customer satisfaction is lowest in the onboarding journey. It improves once customers engage in its claims process and health education content.

Grace knows that it needs to improve onboarding, but it wants to do more than merely fix what’s broken. They believe that onboarding could be an opportunity to differentiate and reinforce Grace’s brand principles of total wellness and progressive health. They want to design a comprehensive customer onboarding program with refreshed digital, physical, and in-person touch points that helps customers:

- Understand their benefits
- Find doctors
- Discover Grace’s health education content and get excited to be a part of Grace’s network

LUX Design Problem
At the event we broke into teams to ideate a solution to this onboarding problem. Teams created Experience Posters based on their ideas, and we selected one to be conceptualized by the Studio Design Community.

Download the attached "Game of Life Poster" to see the types of features and interactions we are thinking about. We think the mobile onboarding experience can be treated as a simple relatable experience where the user can control the entire experience. We want to make sure it is an easy, fun and interactive experience.

The user is able to "Start" their onboarding experience through a very simple signup (as we will already know information about them), continue through and "personalize" their dashboard, profile, and methods of communication and be able to "match" their profile and needs to relevant doctors, pharmacies and communities.

Mobile Application = Mobile Healthcare Onboarding
Application Name(s) = The Game of Life

Logo Inspiration - "See Poster/Sketch"
- There is an existing "The Game of Life" - do not copy this

Color Palette - Open
- The color palette is open
- You can use color inspiration from "The Game of Life"
- Remember this is a health insurance provider

Concepts
Start (know me)

- Sign-up (Grace Health will know some existing data such as age, gender, name, city)
- Initial simple questions to drive an understanding of who you are and what you value (physical ailments, what kind of care you need, what’s important to you about your health experience
- Shopping for their health plan
- Create an avatar to be on the game of life journey
- Videos (quick education about onboarding/health plans)
- Health Trackers (Fitbit or Apple Health integration)

Personalize
- Dashboard (The idea of proactive health notifications. Health plan updates, Doctor follow-up notes. It is time to visit the dentist etc. What is your fitbit information, heart rate etc.)
- Messaging (Type of messaging you are interested in: SMS, Video, etc.)
- How to include gamification?
- Preferences (Do you prefer a male or female doctor? Do you prefer doctors closer to work or home, etc.)

Match (my needs)
- Based on my initial onboarding and preferences what doctors, services and health plans match with me?
- A nearby doctor — I can ask questions, learn about the doctor's rating or chat with them
- Digital communities (things I am interested in vegan community, gluten free community)
- Prescriptions are ready — how does this tie into a pharmacy (using location awareness)

~
Mobile Storyboards
- Design screens for iPhone 6 (Portrait view, 750x1334px)
- This is a native iOS application (research iOS design patterns and techniques)
- We only need 4 screens plus the presentation screen - so pick/design what you think will "showcase" this application. You can create alternative screens to the ones listed.
- In these LUX challenges the “Concepts” you propose really help the presentation

00) Presentation Screen - 1920x1080 (16:9 Ratio)
- This is the most important screen - make it look good! (like you are selling your application)
- Spend more time on your presentation screen as it is the first thing we will show the audience!
- Create a presentation screen of your mobile application!
- Place your designs within an iPhone template! Showcase your submission
- This will be shown to the conference attendees
- Presentation Size = 1920x1080 (16:9 Ratio) - It must be this size!

1) Application Logo
- Create a simple logo for your "The Game of Life" Mobile Health Application
- Something simple and clean that doesn't distract from your screen designs

2) Introduction/Wizard
- First time user experience
- We already know basic information about the user, so this is the "onboarding" introduction experience
- This could include creating an avatar to go through the "Game of Life"
- Quick questions that drive your profile/persona
- Limit confusion and make it interesting

3) Dashboard
- This is our key screen
- What is the priority for our user (how do they quickly navigate?)
- User can customize their experience
- How do they learn about different health plans (or the plans recommended to them?)
- Alerts/messaging to key "life" events they need to react to (ex. need to schedule a doctors appointment or chat follow-up information)
- Doctors that are nearby
- Fitbit or health related information from their mobile devices

4) Match
- How is a user matched to a health plan, matched to a doctor etc
- When viewing a doctor they can see details, doctor ratings, ask questions (SMS, Email, Voice)
- Doctors appear based on user profile preferences
- Similar to dating applications. Application wants to match you to the ideal provider

5) Optional Screen (if you have time want to push/show a concept)
- How might geolocation play into this?
- The idea of seeing costs
- Gamification
- How is a user matched to a community?
- How is a user matched to a local pharmacy?

~
Judging Criteria
- How well you design the mobile application concept!
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Design and User Experience
