Challenge Summary

Welcome to the AppXpress - AutoFolio Mobile App Design ChallengeIn this challenge, we are looking for your mobile design concepts for a cross-platform tool that will enable anyone to invest in high value stocks. The system has a set of algorithms that allows anyone to invest their money successfully.

Round 1

Please submit your initial designs for checkpoint review. Include at least the following screens:
3. Preferences Wizard
4. Home Screen / Executive Summary
5. Watch List
7. Portfolio Detail

Round 2

Please submit your final designs for review, after incorporating checkpoint feedback. All screens listed in requirements must be complete.

Design Overview:
The goal of this challenge is to come up with a responsive HTML5 design to be used seamlessly across multiple platforms (mobile, tablet, desktop) for an app called AutoFolio, which provides users and amateur investors with a very simple interface for them to invest their money wisely in high value stocks suggested by the system.

AutoFolio makes use of readily available, fundamental data about each company, organized in a database refreshed weekly, from which have been filtered out all companies that fail to meet the basic standards of revenue and earnings growth, profit margin trends, and return on equity that would qualify them as prudent investment candidates.

Design Consideration:
- Design Size: iPhone: 750 px x 1334px at portrait orientation
- We are looking for a simple, minimal design with good amounts of whitespace
- Please make sure your UI elements are created in vectors/shape, so it can be easily edited later for some smaller/bigger devices.

User Scenario:
A typical user would be anyone who wishes to earn money with his or her money, and accumulate wealth with little risk. This interface should be simple enough that anyone can navigate and discover the system on their own.
- AutoFolio enables the amateur investor to join the ranks of the intelligent investors and to make successful buy and sell decisions using the same analytical tools used by the professional, fundamental investor, and it does so without requiring the intimidating financial education once considered essential.
- This is a "set it and forget it" model, where the system algorithms will make the recommendations and the user is not required to re-do settings often. All mediums (Smartphone, Tablet and Web) need to work cohesively together to display portfolio and stock details.

Supporting Documents:
- Logo (Investware_Logo.zip)
- Proposed User Flow and references (UserFlow.zip) - these are for reference, we leave it up to you to design the best possible UX

The distinction is that the member will pay a modest fee and be able to access AutoFolio. However the trades will not be automatic. Instead, the user will receive the printed Broker Buy/Sell Order form, when changes in the portfolio are recommended.

The Premium user will have the trades automatically executed, with no need to interface with the broker.

The required fields for Membership level are:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Middle Initial
- Mailing Address (Street, City, State, Zip Code)
- Username
- Password
- Secret Question
- Secret Answer

- Home Telephone
- EMail

When upgrading to Premium status, add the items required by the brokerage in order to activate automatic trades, the required fields are:
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number
- Citizenship
- W-9 Status

3. Preferences Wizard
See attached portfolio.png in UserFlow.zip for content reference - we would like more of a wizard approach to the user setting their preferences
This screen should include the following fields:
Portfolio ID: section
- Name and Brokerage account of each portfolio
- No. of Companies (maximum number of companies desired in portfolio)
- Tax-Deferred Portfolio: On/Off value to determine whether or not this is a tax-deferred portfolio

Aggressiveness: section
- Minimum acceptable return: While a forecast total return of around 15% is the minimum acceptable value for the addition of shares to a portfolio, greater latitude is given to holdings already acquired to prevent the day-to-day fluctuation in market value from triggering their premature sale and producing excessive turnover. The user may determine how aggressive she wishes to be in taking profits and replacing shares. [Default value is 10%.]

- Compromise on Buy Price: There are times when not enough companies qualify to meet the minimum requirements for investment to produce a portfolio with the desired number of holdings. The user may elect to pay up to 10% more than the buy price in order to provide the desired diversification. (default value: zero)
- Buy Price Limit: There are times when the forecast return and risk index will produce a buy price that exceeds the rational price. A more moderate approach would be to limit the buy price to no more than the rational price of the shares. (default state: off)

Acceptable Turnover: section
- Minimal Disruption
- Attempt to Balance

4. Home screen/Executive Summary:
This screen has details about portfolio, growth of portfolio using our methodology, stocks that were bought and sold. (Four unique portfolio performance graphs)

5. Watch list
- See watch_list.png in UserFlow.zip for reference
- Displays all companies in the database of sufficiently high quality to merit investment interest
- Ranked by: Value Index and displays their Ticker Symbol, current Market Price, Rational Price, and Buy Price.

6. Recommendation screen
The Recommendation displays the recommended portfolio, after stocks that should be sold are sold and the funds properly distributed among those companies that are held and purchased.
They are ranked by Quality; and we envision the format to be identical with the Portfolio Detail format, displaying the
same data for the new collection of companies. The aggregations (Rational Value, Market Value, S&P500) and day's changes reflect what would be the case were the portfolio to be the recommended portfolio.

7. Portfolio Detail screen
See portfolio_detail.png in UserFlow.zip for content referene. Fields to be displayed:
- Quality Index (QI)
- Mood
- Risk
Mkt Pr - Market Price. The price at which the market currently values the stock.
Rat Pr – Rational Price. The price of the stock if bought or sold at its normal (signature) PE.
Fcst Hi Forecast high price in the next five years.

8. Company detail screen
- See portfolio_company_detail/png in UserFlow.zip for content reference
- This screen will display the Rational Value, Current Market Value, S&P500 Value, the %age Value and the %age Change (show as tabs? or whatever makes best user experience)

9. Broker Buy/Sell Report
See broker-buy-sell1.png and broker-buy-sell2.png in UserFlow.zip for reference.
The Broker Buy/Sell Report represents the Recommendation, separated into:
- Securities Sold
- Cash available
- Securities Bought
- Cash Remaining.

The purchases on the report are rounded to the nearest $10. Sales should precede Buys.
