Challenge Summary

Welcome to IBM - Media Library Apple Watch App Idea Generation Challenge! In this challenge we need you to think of ideas to create an Apple Watch Application that connects Apple Watch and IBM Media Library within this application.

The goal of this challenge is to come up with cool ideas that will extend IBM Media Library Mobile accessibility into Apple Watch. We are looking for concepts on what is the most efficiently way to use from this application using IBM Media Library. What should be the users experience when using the application? Is it a fun and engaging way to let IBMers use media on wearable technology?

Note:
IBM Media Library is an internal app that manages IBM’s vast repository of media content. It enables employees to share media files (e.g. audio, video, text, presentation, article.) with other employees. This Media Library provides a wide range of media related features and media player support.

Round 1

For Round 1, you are expected to submit your completed idea, including:
1. Abstract Paragraph.
2. The “Who”.
3. Sketches, Screenshots or Mockups.
4. And More.

Round 2

For Round 2, you are expected to submit your completed idea again. At this point, you may have made changes to your idea, based on any feedback from the client (if applicable).


Important Rule Change for this Ideation Challenge:
You are allowed to submit your ideas at any time during this challenge. You are allowed to submit to the final phase even if you did not submit to the checkpoint phase. All ideation submissions will be accepted (that pass screening). Note: while we are allowing this challenge to be "open" throughout we do recommend you submit to the checkpoint so we can review and provide valuable feedback. Good luck!

Requirements:
For this ideation challenge, we want you to come up with ideas on how Apple Watch can connect with the IBM Media library. We want you to come up with the best Apple Watch app! Think about all the cool stuff will be used in this app.

Think about these ideas / tips:
- Consider the users’ attention will turn from screen to wrist, think a simple, delicately ease-to-use way to allow these users control and play media on their watches.
- Consider the user flow and the interact with Apple app using feature or function.
-- For example:  Maybe it will be a controller for your App; Navigate the downloads; Flip to Listen the audio between sections to sections; View screen shot to the Check a news alert; A quickly view of a video that your co-worker sent to you; Sharing a live video to someone; using haptic feedback to indicate an alert, etc.

The attached Powerpoint file shows the screens of the current iPhone Mobile Media Library Application.  These are given to show you the screens and functionality of the application to help you come up with ideas on how the Apple Watch App will interact with the iPhone App.  

Organizing Your Submission:

You are encouraged to provide any sketches, screenshots or mockups of your idea to explain it more.

As a reminder you can submit anything you that will highlight your idea clearly.

Judging Criteria:
- Your idea must be technically feasible to implement on Apple Watch device platform.
- The users are IBMers.
- Uniqueness / Innovation/ Simple/ Ease-of-use
- Clarity/Comprehensiveness - your explanation of your idea must clearly explain how the feature works, how it meets the requirements/factors above, and why it will be a good App to implement.

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
- You can take screenshot of your idea document and submit it.
- You can provide a blank image file and use it as preview image.

Submission Files
All original source files of the submitted ideas; it can be PDF, HTML, DOC, TXT or RTF file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to complete one round of minor changes to ensure your submission meets the stated requirements of this challenge.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
