Project Overview:
Welcome to the IBM - SiBM – IBM (at) HD Mobile Prototype UI Challenge! The goal of this challenge is to create the HTML5 Prototype for a mobile-based application using the provided "IBM@HD" storyboards. The prototype must follow our standards and our guidelines. Review the details below.
The main task of this project is to create the HTML5 Mobile UI Prototype based on the provided Storyboard design by using industry standard best practices for mobile.
This UI Prototype will use Responsive Design solution that will works within Mobile Platform. You must use mobile web HTML5 best practices so it will looks good in targeted device. Read more details for UI Prototype Requirements and Flow below.
As part of this challenge you will need to document all HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript code. We need clear explanation of the code to help us figure all the HTML5/CSS3/JS code functions and make it easier for future developers and the client to understand what you have built.
NOTE: This challenge will leverage Bootstrap (http://getbootstrap.com/getting-started).
Tips for Success: Asking questions early and getting Copilot or PM's feedback is very important for the success of this challenge.
Competition Task Overview:
The main task of this competition is to develop HTML5 prototype based on the provided storyboard designs. Your prototype must work properly in all the required browsers. We are only concerned about mobile browser since this app will run in mobile devices like iPhone 6 and Android.
Required Pages:
1) Login:
- Please refer to 01 Login.png & 15 L Login.png
- IBM HD is image based.
- User needs to enter their credentials before logging in to the app.
- Enter IBM Intranet ID in first line.
- Password in second line.
- If user provide wrong credential or forgot to enter one of the login fields, error screen will appear (red error style).
- When user clicks login he will be redirected to Search Menu Page.
2) Search Menu:
- Please refer to 02 Search Menu.png & 16 L Search Menu.png
- When user lands on this page the Search Tab will be active as shown and use will have the ability to:
-- Make a new search. (04 New Search.png & 18 New Search.png)
-- Look into recent searches. (12 Recent Searches.png & 25 Recent Searches.png)
-- Look into saved searches. (13 Saved Searches.png & 26 Saved Searches.png)
- When user clicks on Useful links tab he will be shown useful links (03 URLs.png & 17 L URLs.png)
3) New Search:
- Please refer to 04 New Search.png & 18 New Search.png
- If user clicks on New Search from Search menu then he will be redirected to this page.
- Clicking on Home Icon at the top will take the user back to search menu.
- If user clicks on get current location link a push notification will be shown (05 New Search_Popup.png & 19 New Search_Popup.png).
- If user does not click to get current location, user needs to select Geo, Country and City.
- For this challenge, let's run it with fake data:
-- GEO:

-- COUNTRY:
# For North America: USA, Mexico, Canada
# For Asia: China, Japan, India
-- CITY:
# Just do India: Bangalore, Pune, New Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai.
- We showed the experience of how to select a country (06 Select Country.png & 07 Country Selected.png & 20 Select Country.png), selecting a Geo and a City will be the same experience with the fake data we provided above.
- Clicking on cancel while searching for Geo, Country and City will take the user back to New Search page.
- Now when Search Fields are filled (08 Data Search Filled.png & 21 Data Search Filled.png), user can click on reset link and all data will be removed and it will look like a new search page (04 New Search.png & & 18 New Search.png).
- If user clicks the submit button he will be redirected to Search Results page (09 Search Results.png & 22 Search Results.png).
4) Search Results:
- Please refer to 09 Search Results.png & 22 Search Results.png
- Clicking on Home Icon at the top will take the user back to search menu.
- Clicking on a mobile number will show the following options (10 Save Search 1.png & 23 Save Search 1.png):
-- Call Contact.
-- Message Contact.
-- Copy Contact.
-- Save Contact.
-- Cancel will hide the options.
- Clicking on an office number will show the following options (11 Save Search 2.png & 24 Save Search 2.png):
-- Copy Contact.
-- Save Contact.
-- Cancel will hide the options.
5) Recent Searches:
- Please refer to 12 Recent Searches.png & 25 Recent Searches.png
- If user clicks on Recent Searches from Search menu then he will be redirected to this page.
- Clicking on Home Icon at the top will take the user back to search menu.
- Clicking on one of the searches in the list will show search results page.
- Clicking on clear link at the top will clear the list.
6) Saved Searches:
- Please refer to 13 Saved Searches.png & 26 Saved Searches.png
- If user clicks on Saved Searches from Search menu then he will be redirected to this page.
- Clicking on Home Icon at the top will take the user back to search menu.
- Clicking on one of the numbers will be show the following options (10 Save Search 1.png & 23 Save Search 1.png):
-- Call Contact.
-- Message Contact.
-- Copy Contact.
-- Save Contact.
-- Cancel will hide the options.
- Clicking on edit link at the top will allow the user to edit the saved searches (14 Saved Searches Edit.png & 27 Saved Searches Edit.png).
- Clicking on the red icon will remove the number from saved searches list.
- 3 lines icon is a dead link for now.
- Clicking on done will take you back to saved searches normal view.
Specific HTML/CSS/JavaScript Requirements:
HTML/CSS Requirements:
- Your HTML code must be valid HTML5 and follow best practices
- Validate your code - reviewers may accept minor validation errors, but please comment your reason for any validation errors. Use the validators listed in the scorecard.
- Use CSS to space out objects, not clear/transparent images (GIFs or PNGs) and use proper structural CSS to layout your page. Only use table tags for tables of data/information and not for page layout.
- No inline CSS styles - all styles must be placed in an external style-sheet.
- Use semantically correct tags - use H tags for headers, etc. Use strong and em tags instead of bold and italic tags.
- Element and Attribute names should be in lowercase and use a "-" or camel naming to separate multiple-word classes (i.e.. "main-content", or "mainContent)
- Label all CSS, JavaScript, or HTML hacks with explanations so others will understand.
- Your code must render properly in all browsers listed in the scorecard in both Mac and PC environments.
JavaScript Requirements:
- All JavaScript used must not have any copyrights to any third party. You are encouraged to use your own scripts, or scripts that are free, publicly available and do not have copyright statements or author recognition requirements anywhere in the code.
- You are allowed to use JQuery (MIT License) for this contest.
Browsers Requirements:
- Firefox, Safari & Chrome Mobile Browsers.
- Android Browser.
