Challenge Summary

Welcome to GE – Know Your Customer Portal Design Enhancement Challenge!

In this challenge we are looking to enhance the Customer Connect application that supports GE's customer onboarding process, in addition to design a new functionality for the application.

Customer master data is managed centrally, and businesses use Customer Connect to:
- Search the database to see if a prospective customer already exists in the database
- If the entity is not already an existing customer, then initiate the due diligence process in order to approve the customer (referred to as "Know Your Customer" or "KYC" for short) before entering into a contractual relationship.

For this challenge you are provided with Customer Connect Screenshots and looking for YOUR help to design the new functionality and improve the look/feel and overall user experience for navigation, click/touch etc based on YOUR UX design recommendations.

Design Description:
The goal of this challenge is to provide a set of new screen mock-ups with an improved, state-of-the art user feel that also reflect the new functionality the client GE plan to add in the future.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).

Screen Sizes:
- Desktop Resolution: 1280px width and height as required.
Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics will still look sharp!

Design Goals:
Take the existing Customer Connect screen mock-ups provided by GE team and:
- Design the new functionality/feature.
- Improve the look/feel and overall user experience for navigation, click/touch etc based on your UX design recommendations.

Required Screens:
Note: The screenshots provided shows the major types of requests that are initiated within the tool today.
1. New Functionality:
- Please refer slides 32-38.
- We want to add blocking functionality.
- This should appear in Review Results page. (Slide 5).
- This means the user will be able to add flags to customers as described in (slide 34).
- We need to expand acceptable value for Watch List flags: N, R, O, Y.
- We would also like to remove some fields while we are designing the new screen mockups: (Slide 38)
-- Remove Contact name and Remove Contact phone #
-- Legal Structure Should be optional with 4 values ( in Red below): GE Internal Customer - Implement as Radio Button���Government - Implement as Radio Button���Allow to choose between the following Radio buttons ���Public Private.

-- Removing mailing address option – Leave only the Physical address
-- Site Use code will have the following options:
A- Bill To.
B- Ship To.
C- Sold To.
D- Quote To.

2. Look & Feel Plus UX Improvements for:
Customer Search (Slide 4):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality? is it missing anything from your experience? Or is it good as it is?
- User here writes the customer name and then can filter it based on location as well (filter location can be left empty).

Review Results (Slide 5):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?
- When user selects subscribe Action he will be redirected to Add to System page (Slide 6).
- User can click on “Search D&B” button if he did not find the customer he is looking for.

Search and Subscribe from D&B (Slide 9):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?
- If user finds the customer then he can add it to MDM system
- If user did not find the customer in D&B then he can add a new customer.

Add New Customer (Slide 12-15):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?
Note: Slide 13 and 14 show “questions” and there are sections that can be expanded.  The screenshots of those expanded questions can be found in the “Customer Onboarding -Questions.pptx” document.

MISC (Slide 17-18):
- We want a new Open Escalation Button, this can be found at the top of add new customer page.
- We want a new Watchlist Rescreen Button.
- Think of new design for all the buttons here in slide 18.

Modify Existing Customer (Slide 20-21):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?

Add New Address (Slide 20-21):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?

Modify Existing Customer (Slide 23-26):
- Think about how can you improve this functionality?

Other Menu Options (Slide 23-26):
- Think about how can you improve the following functionalities:
-- Transactions menu.
-- GateKeeper.
-- Due Diligence.
-- Onboarding Queue.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target Audience:
- Sales rep.
- Admins.
- Ops folks.
Sales rep is most important and wants to see LEAST information.  E.g. the search result screens could have limited fields by default with ability to get to more information (Think how to capture this?).

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Your design should possible to build.

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
