Challenge Summary

Welcome to Topcoder Website UX Refresh Navigation Icons Design Challenge. We need to design sharp high quality icons for the new navigation of the Topcoder website. We’re in the process of redefining the UI/UX of the entire site. This is part of the change, be part of it and jump in!

Plus, it’s an opportunity to learn a new design tool, Sketch. It’s not mandatory, however we’re starting to introduce this tool as an option to the regular tools we’ve been using.

Round 2

Final design will contain all the icons (17) plus any updates from client feedback.

We are in the process of redesigning the Topcoder website to improve the whole experience of the site. We need to create high quality icons for the navigation menu.

You are provided with the vector source files of the new Topcoder website plus a good amount of PNG screens of other pages for capturing the new branding essence and inspiration.

Branding
- Extract branding ideas from TopcoderRefresh.zip. This contain sample pages of the new UI/UX of the Topcoder website.
- Keep it simple. Notice the current style is based on flatness, simplicity, spacing and depth. It’s important that icons are outlined.
- The new branding font is the Sofia Pro family. If you don’t have it in your system replace it with Helvetica or Arial. We’ll provide the font for replacement to the winner as final fixes. Declare your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies.

Dimensions
- Icon dimension: 34 x 34 pixels.
- Follow the provided template to place the icons.

Important Note:
- In spite you’re provided with a PSD template your icons MUST be created either with Illustrator or Sketch (VECTOR format).Notice there are 4 placeholders only, this is just for start. You must show/group versions distributed in 4 icons for "Compete", 6 icons for "Learn" and 7 icons for "Community".
- You'll find samples with navigation icons in the provided TopcoderRefresh.zip file. Ignore those, we're looking for different concepts for the new icons.

Design Requirements
Recently we acquired artworks for general usage in the site (attached - outlined_icons.zip). This style represents what we’re looking for the navigation, thick outlined and clean icons. However, we’re looking for originality adapted to our environment. Design the following icons following the same style mentioned.

1. Compete
- Design Challenges
- Software Challenges
- Data Science Challenges
- Arena

2. Learn
- Getting Started
- Design
- Development
- Data Science
- Tutorials
