Challenge Summary

Welcome to AppXpress - EmPOWER Web Design Challenge.

Farm Credit Financial Partners (FPI) is a provider of technology services to Farm Credit System lending institutions, knowns as Agricultural Credit Associations or ACAs. FPI is modernizing one of their key applications (EmPOWER), replacing major portions of the desktop application with a custom, web-based application loan origination and servicing application (EmPOWER web).

In this challenge we are looking for your help to design the grid and nested grid elements within the application. We are looking for best user experience for displaying and exploring data in those grids.

Round 1

Following are required screens that must be submitted on checkpoint phase:
- Pipeline View.
- Determine Credit Rating.
- Feel free to add additional screens which are necessary to explain your concept or show alternate states of design elements.
- Notes.jpg: Please include any comments about your design for the Client
- Make sure all pages have a logical flow / Use correct file numbering (00, 01, 02, 03)

Round 2

You must submit all required screens including given feedbacks on checkpoint phase.


Project Overview
Farm Credit Financial Partners (FPI) is a provider of technology services to Farm Credit System lending institutions, knowns as Agricultural Credit Associations or ACAs. FPI is modernizing one of their key applications (EmPOWER), replacing major portions of the desktop application with a custom, web-based application loan origination and servicing application (EmPOWER web).

In this challenge, one of specific areas we are seeking design ideas is grid-based and nested grids display of data. These grids displays will sometimes be voluminous and requiring an ability to filter and/or sort elements.

General Requirements
- This application will be used by professional bankers, so design a professional looks and feel.
- The main focus on this challenge is to redesign the grid and nested grid elements so it could contains clear information, easy to use and explore and not too crowded.
- For another elements in the application, you could follow the layout as shown in provided screenshots, your solution must contains all elements and information that provided there.
- Please design icons for any necessary elements, the icon must be easy to decipher.
- Provide a screen that contains style guide and all icons of your solution.

Requirements
Following are grid elements that we are looking to redesign so it could diplays data clearly and easy to use, explore, filter and sort.
1. Pipeline View
The end user would need to be able to expand any given pipeline item (also known as a Credit Package) to view loans included in the package and work assignments associated with the package (figures 2 and 3). Please check all figures and details in provided document.
2. Determine Credit Rating

Please concentrate primarily on the Probability of Default (figure 6) and Model Comparison (figure 7) grids. There are 3 drop down fields on Probability of Default that should be aligned with the top 3 rows in the grid (Financial Reporting, Repayment Performance, and Management). The Model Comparison grid is an expandable list that lets the user see where the current rating (for example, a rating of 6 in the Financial Reporting category) can be seen in relation to the range of available ratings (figure 8). Please check all figures and details in provided document.
3. Maintain Insurance Coverage
On initial entry into this screen, the end user would be presented with a collapsed grid view (figure 12). If an individual policy were expanded, a list of the related detail would be displayed (figure 13). Please check all figures and details in provided document.

Branding Guidelines
- The width of the application is 1260px.
- Font: Arial.
- Font Size: 12px.
- Colors and theme: follow the theme of provided screenshots.

Target Audience
Bank loan officers, bank financial/credit analysts, bank clerical workers.

Judging Criteria
- Completeness (design includes all required elements, information, options & functionality).
- Cleanliness of graphics and design.
- Ease-of use to successfully engage users in a simple way.
- User experience on viewing, exploring, filtering and sorting data on the grids.

Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.
Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
