Welcome to AppXpress- IT Student Program Brand Concept Logo Design Challenge!

This is a fast Logo challenge. We want to create a new logo for our IT Student Program. The logo would be used on letterheads, presentation slides, displayed on exhibition stands, brochures etc.

Round 1

Round One (1) - Submit your design for Checkpoint feedback:
- Logo examples/sketches.
- List any branding guidelines, colors, fonts you would suggest.
Notes: Any information you want client notice about your logo.

Round 2

Round Two (2) - Final Design plus any Checkpoint feedback:
- Final Logo.
- Final Branding guidelines, colors, fonts etc.
Notes: Any information you want client notice about your logo.


 Challenge Description:
The goal of this challenge is to give identity to the UK IT Student Program. Creating a brand internally for our client and externally when we are recruiting for IT Students at university. Logo will be used at ALL universities we present at during recruitment, displayed on exhibition stands, slides, brochures etc.

Supporting Documents:
- Logo Template (logo-branding-template.ai.zip).
- Color Palette. (Color Palette.zip).

Main Features:
1. Standalone logo to represent the IT Student Placement Program.
2. Reference the 4 key skill areas of the student program.
3. Give an identity/brand to the IT Student Program.
4. Size should be small enough for letterheads or presentations slides.
5. Reference colors from the color palettes attached.

Logo Creation & Brand ideas:
- UK IT Student Program has been running for over 35 years. Targeted at 1 year student placements for IT students.
 - We offer a mix of technical & business focused roles
- Program is centered around IT, and 4 main skills:
-- Customer focus.
 -- Leadership/motivation.
 -- Critical thinking.
 -- Passion for technology.
 - Size – no specific parameters, however intended use is for letterheads, slides, brochures, exhibition stands etc. so would need to be small enough for a letterhead.
- The graphic must represent the target audiences stated below in "Target Audience"
- Please stay away from gradients, as they will not be able be easily reproduced across all media.
- You must show your logo on a white and black background (You MUST use the logo template provided).
- The logo must be shown in various forms on the template (different color choices, layout, font use etc.)
- You must identify your colors theme in the submission.
- Designs must be created as VECTOR artwork so they can be resized without a loss of quality. Make sure your logo quality is not diminished when scaled up or down.

Target Audience:
- Students at university studying IT related degrees looking for an IT Placement.
- Students already working at our company on a 1 year IT Placement.
- Employees at our company engaged in the IT Student Program.

Judging Criteria:
- Requirements: Does your logo meet the requirements as stated in the description.
- Relevance: How does your logo "fit" with the purpose?
- Quality: Does your logo look fresh, professional and clean? Is the composition/layout well done? Have you used typography in a meaningful way?
- Concept: Does your logo present a new and interesting concept? Is it simple, yet memorable?

 Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG image files based on contest submission requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

For Logo:
All original VECTOR source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Illustrator or similar and saved as layered AI or EPS file. Your source files must meet these requirements:
1) The AI/EPS logo file with text intact (not outlined).
2) The AI/EPS logo file with text in outlined format.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
