Challenge Details:
The goal of this challenge is to create wireframes to help manage and showcase Bluemix demos.
We are looking for wireframe (Axure) solutions based on requirements below. We’re also looking to the community to come up with interesting ideas - we’re absolutely open to creative solutions!
At the end of this wireframe challenge, we are looking to have a complete solution for the user experience of the application.
Wireframe Expectations:
- Produce HTML click through wireframes that can be used to demonstrate all mentioned functionalities as required in each round.
- The application must be very easy to use and intuitive. Keep that in mind when designing your solution.
- You MUST cover all screens mentioned in required new sections below, if any requirement is missing in final submission the client will not take a look at it, so make a checklist for the required screens to make sure you designed all of them.
- Please show us your proposal as a movie or series of wireframes that communicate the user’s intended interaction with your proposed solution.
- You MUST use wireframes note pane in every single page you design to explain what items are addressed in that page from the documentation, what things you added/changed/removed, use it to make your idea clearer and help the client to give you constructive feedback.
Notes:
- Your wireframe submission need able to drill down for all page flows.
- Show your wireframe solution on Desktop. Use this screen size (1280px width and height as required)
- Feel free to suggest any tools/function that can bring good User Experience for this Web Application.
Supporting Material:
- Rough Mockups for the idea can be found here: http://youmix.mybluemix.net/
- You need to click to go to next screen.
Required Features:
1. Landing page
All users will come first to a landing page, where they can get to the different examples and videos. On this page, in addition to user role activities, all users can view apps by category and read app descriptions / watch videos. They should see a separate “channel” of endorsed videos.
From this page, users need to be able to log in (see #2). If they do not have a Bluemix ID, they should be able to create one. See the current Bluemix login experience for details. Users may also already be logged when they come to this page.
See requirement #3 for the what belongs on this page, per user role.
2. Login:
- People can access the application to browse, without logging in, but in order to contribute (even to like/comment), they will need to log in with a Global IBM ID that's registered with Bluemix.
- Each user needs to sign in by filling:
-- IBM Intranet ID.
-- Password.
-- Forgot password link.
-- Remember me checkbox.
-- Login button.
If they don’t have a Bluemix account, they should be able to sign up for one. We are likely to use the existing Bluemix login experience here, so you may not need to design something specific for this.
3. Required Features Based On User Role:
We will need to see how the listed actions actions would take place.
App Publishers (must be logged in):
- Can add their project:
---- Links to content.
---- Description.
---- Upload a video or link to existing YouTube.
---- Add a Slack channel or email address.
- Pick from existing categories (and maybe add tags).
App Viewers:
- Can view apps by category and read app descriptions / watch videos.
- If logged in, can:
---- Like.
---- Comment.
---- Access code (external link or download).
---- Talk to the team via Slack or email.
---- Flag as inappropriate.
Admin (must be logged in):
- Create the list of app categories.
- Pick certain demos as "endorsed" -- these will be in their own channel.
- Remove inappropriate apps.
Learn Axure:
New to Axure? Here are some quick tutorials to help you get started.

Target Users:
- The target audience for this application will be IBM employees plus other people who are interested in Bluemix:
-- App Publishers (these can be both IBM employees and non-IBMers, who have apps that they want to advertise).
-- App Viewers (these are likely to be mostly people outside of IBM, who are interested in learning about Bluemix. They may be developers who may publish apps in the future, or people who are less technical and just want to learn what’s possible with Bluemix).
-- App Admin (IBM employees).
Judging Criteria:
- Integrated look & feel with www.bluemix.net
- Completeness and accuracy of the wireframe as defined in the spec requirements.
- How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow.
Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
Generated HTML files with all the requested contest requirements stated above.
Source Files
Wireframes should be built in Axure. The resulting files should have generated HTML files. Also, all the content must be listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow.
Final Fixes
As part of the Final Fix phase, you may be asked to remove, update, or change some features of the wireframe.
Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
