Challenge Summary

Welcome to GE – Power Genius Design Concepts Challenge! The goal of this challenge is to help GE design a more contemporary user Interface for a collaborative Account Plan in Salesforce (SFDC).

This would allow an Account Executive and his account team to see the most relevant and current information first while allowing them to easily access reference information. The type of current information could include Customer strategy, objectives and organization, GE strategy and objectives, opportunities, orders, initiatives, issues, Net Promoter Score (NPS), Chatter, team members and third party news sources. The reference data could include installed base, contracts, historical orders, market and competitive analysis.

The goal is better knowledge and collaboration of customer and GE objectives on the account by a dispersed team and ultimately increased business for GE and higher customer loyalty and satisfaction.

Design Description:
The base problem GE wants to solve is understanding the account’s business strategies, objectives, needs, and challenges. They then want to collaborate on how GE can help the customer meet these challenges, needs, strategies and objectives.

In designing the Power Genius Account Plan, consider a dashboard for the current information to make it dynamic and interactive. At the same time consider the future that incorporates more account planning functionality. Think through how a user would want to access information that is:
- Current everyday information to update and inform.
- Reference material that educates and influences them.
- Strategic or forward-looking.

Screen Sizes:
- Desktop Resolution: Design for 1280px width and height as required.
- Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics will still look sharp!

Branding Guidelines:
- Branding Guidelines (GE Branding.zip).
In designing the Power Genius dashboard, please think about a bigger future that incorporates more account planning functionality. Think through how a user would want to access information that is:
- Current everyday information to update and inform.
- Reference material that educates and influences them.
- Strategic or forward-looking.

Lightning Design System:
Make sure you familiarize yourself with the Lightning Design System. Review the Design section and Components. Because this is a new system there is not a UI kit available, so you will need to redesign any components used. It would be great to follow general styles and established components of the system, but it not a requirement. We want the general look and feel to match Lightning, but you can design custom “components” as needed to work with the content.

Design Goals:
- The design should follow GE branding guidelines.
- We are looking for the best UI/UX we can achieve.
- Power Genius is a tab level object in Salesforce.
- Needs to be consistent with Salesforce Lightning Design (design, layout, etc.)
- Users want easy in-line editing for every object. They don't want to have to scroll to the top of a page and hit an edit button.
- Showing Contacts as an org chart (think tree structure) as well as a table is desirable.
- Account Team Members should get automatically added to the list for every sales manager who has an active opportunity for the account. But we'll also want to add manually some team members from supporting groups. The UI should allow easy addition of Account Team Members.
- Anticipate a 2nd phase where a Projects object can be added. Projects will summarize big projects a customer has that represent the potential for opportunities in several businesses. It should be able to mark each opportunity as being part of the project and track metrics against those opportunities over time.
- The future may also include Opportunity Strategy and Project Strategy.
- Need a way to print or export these reports into a file or onto paper.

Required Functionality:
1. Account Selection Screen:

  • Another screen that serves as a landing page to select which Account will populate the Dashboard in requirement 2.
