Today, MyNet lacks a cohesive intranet that engages and meets the needs of its global employees, thereby impacting its culture and productivity. We want to work towards creating one simple, relevant, engaging and always accessible experience that enables the workforce to be more informed, unified and productive.

We do not expect to get their in a single challenge but this is our first step to iterating through these ideas (with your help!)

Current MyNet Challenges
- Lack of a global communication channel
- Static and differing user experiences across devices
- Manual processes that are cumbersome to manage

In this challenge we want to create a great mobile/responsive experience. Think simplicity from a mobile-first perspective!  So use Responsive Design to make this adaptable, usable and attractive across platforms! With simplicity, we don’t want you to copy any other site or application’s style but consider the simple design approach of modern web applications. This is a portal that employees will use everyday.

Quotes from what Employees currently expect
Comments shown below are reflection client global employee responses via internal survey:
- "I do not have the ability to check via Mobile."
- "I want the page to remember what's important to me based on my use, so it's easy for me to find the things I need the most."
- "Site is NOT intuitive for me to find information and homepage covered with things I DON'T use. Would be helpful if I could select what is on MY homepage.”
- "Multiple "clicks" needed to get someplace unless I bookmark it, but then I have a lot of bookmarks, and it is hard to remember where I "filed" them/what they are named."
- "HR stuff needs to be more intuitive and accessible with major links to 401(k) balance and pay stubs etc.."
- "No ability to customize format, I remember being able to do that with the other HR site."

Design Concepts Requirements:
For this challenge we would like you to suggest concepts based on these initial two Employee Personas:

A). Persona #1: Samantha
- Samantha is a Supervisor in Global Services and has a team of 4 that she manages
- Samantha relies heavily on the new and improved MyNet intranet to effectively do her job and get the latest global and local Dublin office news on a daily basis
- Let’s walk through a typical day in the life of Samantha and see just how prominent the MyNet intranet is in her life:

In the morning
- When Samantha gets in and starts her computer, she goes directly to the MyNet homepage to skim through the latest headlines and see what’s trending globally.
- In particular, she uses the filters to view articles based on the topics/feeds that she follows.

Samantha attends the seminar
- On the way to the conference room, Samantha receives an alert on her mobile device. One of her team members has just put in a request to approve her expenses.
- Samantha reviews and approves the request directly from her mobile device.
- Once approved Samantha notices that she has a couple other to do items. She decides to get to them once she is back at her desktop.

To Do Items
- Once back at her desktop, Samantha has the following to do items on her personalized homepage:
-- Complete a training by end of day
-- Review a entry time sheet
-- Complete benefits enrollment
- Samantha decides to spend the next few hours completing the above activities.

Profile Page
- Tom is new to MyNet and recently moved into his new home. Tom needed to help getting started on his MyNet profile page to reflect his most current information.
- Samantha quickly shows Tom how to navigate to his profile page on the MyNet portal to update his profile and make any modifications (e.g., upload a photo).

Search
- While at lunch, Samantha receives an Outlook meeting reminder for a meeting with Tom Gutierrez. The invite does not have a meeting location, and Samantha has never met with Tom.
- After lunch, Samantha decides to use the Search function (content and people search) to find where he sits and meet with Tom in person.

Helpful Links / Pins
- Also, Samantha provides Tom with some helpful links that he will likely refer to on a regular basis such as personnel announcements and the cafeteria menu.
- Tom decides to save these links as pins on his homepage for future reference.

Time Approval
- As it gets closer to end of day, Samantha realizes that she needs to approve her teams’ timesheets.
- Samantha is running late to pick up her son from school, so she quickly views and approves her the time sheets from her mobile phone while leaving the MyNet office to get to her car

B). Persona #2: Li Jie
- Li Jie is an Executive for the Chinese region
- Li Jie relies not only on his desktop but also his iPad and mobile phone to do his job because he is always on the go
- Let’s walk through a typical day in the life of Li Jie:

In the morning
- While eating breakfast, Li Jie goes to his profile landing page to catch up the latest industry and local MyNet news for China.
- Li Jie needs to plan a family vacation, so he checks his workstation metrics to see his pending vacation balance.

Trending Topics
- He goes to his article page and is happy to see the amount of activity his article generated with many employees commenting and tagging each other to share his piece.

Article Page
- He goes to his article page and is happy to see the amount of activity his article generated with many employees commenting and tagging each other to share his piece.

Corporate Responsibility
- Li Jie recalls that there is an upcoming deadline for MyNet’s Connecting Hearts Aboard program.
- Once Li Jie gets home, he quickly navigates to the “Corporate Responsibility” section of the intranet to recall when the application deadline is.
- Fortunately, the deadline is not for another six weeks, so he adds to his to-do list, so he doesn’t forget about it.
