Challenge Summary

Welcome to DMD Media Screener App UX Design Concepts Challenge! In this challenge we are looking to update DMD's current Media Screener App (responsive website) to meet the latest technology, create fluid navigation, improve and/or create more functionality to assist with content sales. DMD should always strive to be at the forefront of technology and customer satisfaction. That is why we want you to help us with a new design for our media screener that will create a unique DMD experience!

The DMD Media Screener APP allows its users to view, share, and save media from the DMD brand library.

This website application theme will be built on Mediafly Interactives Framework (http://www.mediafly.com, http://devdocs.mediafly.com/interactives).

Round 1

Submit your design for a Checkpoint feedback:
- Submit your initial designs (
portrait or landscape views) for Checkpoint Feedback.
- Readme.jpg : Provide notes about your submission.

Round 2

Final Design plus Checkpoint feedback:
- Your Final designs for all the required designs with all Checkpoint Feedback implemented.
- Readme.jpg : Provide notes about your submission.

DMD has a current Media Screener that is outdated and is in need of a redesign. The current user experience is clunky and requires the user "too many" clicks to explore and view content. We are looking to improve the overall user experience allowing the user to easily browse, view, and save content to their profile.

DMD has a suite of brands that this Media Screener APP will support, so the design should be flexible to easily work with the DMD suite of brands. Consider a base design that is able to easily swap out colors to work with the various DMD brand colors. A user should be able to switch between DMD brands and have a similar look and feel/ experience. You can use the brand assets for your design concepts. Please contact your copilot for access to the assets folder once you have registered for the challenge.

We have provided the design guidelines and font requirements in the attached design direction document and also you could refer link (https://projects.invisionapp.com/d/main#/boards/1520914) for more details. You are encouraged to show your creative ideas to create something new, with easy and innovative designs. We look forward to seeing your ideas from this challenge.

We need to get responsive designs for tablet and iPad like devices,  both portrait & landscape views with required resolutions (2048 x 1536). We would prefer landscape view for ALL screens and portrait view for screen 1 and screen 2.

Note: These examples are for inspiration reference only. Please DO NOT COPY them.

Requirements:

Please refer attached DMD design direction document. Below are the required views for this challenge:

1. Media Screener Landing Page:
- Similar to this site, this page should be a visual page that allows a user to select the brand that they would like to explore. Consider touch user experience to allow a user to quickly interact and explore the available DMD brands. Once a user has selected a brand they should be able to switch to a different brand easily with the main navigation.

2. Brand Landing Page:
- Once a user has clicked into a brand they will be taken to a brand landing page. On this page, the user should be presented with dynamic high level content for the brand. Featured and recent content should be one of the primary items in the layout with secondary items including recent releases, current releases, search, and viewed programs (user based).

3. Series Landing Page:
- After selecting a title to view, the user is brought to a title landing screen where they can read the series overview, browse seasons and episodes, see the producer, cast and other high level information about the series.

4. Season Landing Page:
- After selecting a series to explore, the user is taken to a series landing page where they can view the season synopsis, and explore episodes in the season.

5. Episode Landing Page:
- After selecting an episode to view, the user is taken to the episode landing screen where they can read the episode synopsis and view the episode.

6. Viewer:
- Clicking "Play" at any time on an episode thumbnail or from an episode landing page, the user will be taken to a video player interface where they can screen the selected episode, comment, download, and share the episode. Consider navigational elements that allow a user to quickly jump to different episodes in the season (next/prev).

7. Main Navigation:
- Come up with a main navigation scheme that allows a user to quickly bounce between brands, programs, movies, TV Shows, and their profile.

Target Audience:
-
Media Screeners.

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
