Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Topcoder Company Kickoff Logo and Image Header Design Challenge! The goal of this challenge is to create a logo and an Event Brite header image for an upcoming Topcoder staff all hands meeting.

The goal of this event is to get Topcoder staff feel excited about the company meeting and show off the amazing creativity and skill of the design community.

Round 1

You initial design of the following for review:

1. Logo

2. Event Brite Image Header

Round 2

You final design of the following for review:

1. Logo

2. Event Brite Image Header


For this challenge, you are going to create:

1. Logo
- It should include the provided Topcoder logo with the text “Company Kickoff”.
- Size and orientation is open to the designers.
- Place the logo in the provided template.
- Create the logo in All Color and Black & White versions. 
- Your logo must be recognizable when printed on a Black & White background.
- Please stay away from gradients, as they will not be able to be easily reproduced across all media.
-  Designs must be created as VECTOR artwork so they can be resized without a loss of quality. Make sure your logo quality is not diminished when scaled up or down.

2. Event Brite Image Header
- Size should be 1000 by 500 pixels.
- Example of Event Brite header can be found here.
- Content should include the logo you created in requirement #1.
- Add dummy date and location.

Branding
- Colors should be based on the Topcoder colors.
- Fonts are open to the designer, just be aware of Studio font policy. DO NOT include any font files in your submission or source files.

Target Audience
- Topcoder staff

Judging Criteria
Feel free to explain how these criteria are met, or what your idea behind the design process is - as a text file/notes in your submission.
- Quality: Does your logo look fresh, professional and clean? Is the composition/layout well done? Have you used typography in a meaningful way?
- Concept: Does your logo present a new and interesting concept? Is it simple, yet memorable?

Submission Deliverables
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections.

Submission File:
All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi.

Source Files:
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop and saved as layered AI or PSD files.
Your logo source files must meet these requirements:
1) The AI/EPS logo file with text intact (not outlined).
2) The AI/EPS logo file with text in outlined format.

Final Fixes:
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify colors or fonts.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
