Challenge Summary

Welcome to "GE - CTO Application Migration Design Challenge". We are looking to re-platform 300+  applications and would like your help to plan and design a desktop/mobile application to evaluate (scorecard) the applications. We will use this application to determine what applications can be migrated or decommissioned.

In this challenge, we are looking for initial design concepts and ideas for this new application. Think about the design problem, the overall application goals and what the potential user experience could be.

Round 1

Submit your initial designs (desktop/mobile) for Checkpoint Feedback.
01. Landing/Dashboard Screen (Desktop/Mobile)
02. Application Detail Screen (Desktop/Mobile)
03. Interview Screen/Add Application (Desktop/Mobile)
04. Score Results + Reporting (Mobile)
Note: These are suggested screens.. feel free to modify
- Click-map.jpg: Notes/guide of your design

Round 2

Final Design plus Checkpoint feedback
- Your Final designs for all the required designs with all Checkpoint Feedback implemented.

The Design Problem
We currently have an excel spreadsheet process to help us evaluate our applications for potential re-platform/migration to newer technology. We need an easy way to quickly evaluate and score 300+ applications. We would like to design a web-based application to replace this process.

Design Goals
An application that can easily capture/input data using a scorecard process to evaluate 300+ applications to determine if they are worthy to be re-platformed or decommissioned. We want to evaluate if an application should be moved to GE Predix or CloudFoundry etc.

Branding Guidelines
- Inspired by the GE branding guidelines and goals
- We are looking for your UI solutions
- Branding suggestions and inspiration can be found here. Note, these are not requirements for the challenge.

Screen Requirements
Please remember, this is a design concepts challenge, These screen belows are only our current recommendations/thoughts for the application. We are looking for you to evaluate this application and provide your thoughts and concepts for the potential user experience.

01. Landing/Dashboard Screen
- What is the initial landing page for the application?
- The user would be presented with high level infographics related to scorecard results, missing entries, application listings, latest user activity etc.
- On the dashboard, a user could click into the data to get a more detailed breakdown of the information.
- Think about the user, the navigation and what makes sense as priority/action items from this screen.

02. Application Detail Screen
- This screen would show details about the individual applications
- Please refer to "PCF_AWS_Questionnaire_020816_v2.xlsx" for reference.
- The current detail screen is represented by the 2nd and 3rd tabs
- The 2nd Tab is Regular Details
- The 3rd Tab is Security Details
- Some of the details from 1st Tab might be better on the Detail screen as well, we are open to your ideas and suggestions.

03. Interview Screen/Add Application
- Please refer to "PCF_AWS_Questionnaire_020816_v2.xlsx" for scorecard content.
- There are 3 sections of the scorecard that need to be captured:
-- App Profile (information from this section would feed the user dashboard)
-- Detail App Profile (information from this section helps populate the detail screen)
-- Security and Compliance (information from this section helps populate the detail screen)

Remember, there are more than 300+ applications that need to be reviewed so look to create the best UI/UX to help simplify the user workflow for data entry/input.

04. Score Results + Reporting (important)
- How do you present the application score results?
- This should be highly graphic/quick infographic type results to know if an application makes sense to be replatformed (e.g. to GE Predix or Cloud Foundry etc.)
- Important: How easy is it to see the viability of an application on mobile?
- There will be a lot of data presented - how do you keep the user focused/highlight the important items?

05. Application Comparison/Benchmarking
- User should be able to compare the applications on a single screen
- User can select few or all applications to be compared at once.
- The results of the comparison will be shown in sequential order where the most worthy apps will be shown first followed by less worthy.

06. Admin Flow
- We will need an Admin view of the application
- The Admin will be able to track all activities within the application.
- The Admin can view a history of data input in the application (logged history).
- The Admin can add new users, or edit/delete them
- The Admin can add new applications to get scoring/evaluation if necessary.

IMPORTANT
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance.

Screen Resolution:
- Focus on desktop and mobile devices.
- Desktop: 1280px wide (height can expand with content)
- Mobile: (750x1334px) (height can expand with content)

Supporting Documents
- Scorecard Spreadsheet (PCF_AWS_Questionnaire_020816_v2.xlsx)
