Welcome to AppXpress – Fit Jam - Voting Mobile App Design Challenge!

This challenge is focused on creating design concepts/visual ideas to create an app that customer teams can insert, review and vote on project ideas for the Topcoder Community. We'd want to enable as close-to-possible real-time voting so at the end of the session, you could rank order the ideas and leave the session with a prioritized list. The app would be part (light) data capture but most importantly a voting/engagement tool to make FIT a fun experience.

Challenge Description:
The goal of this challenge is to create an app that customer teams can insert, review and vote on project ideas for the Topcoder Community. We'd want to enable as close-to-possible real-time voting so at the end of the session, you could rank order the ideas and leave the session with a prioritized list. The app would be part (light) data capture but most importantly a voting/engagement tool to make FIT a fun experience.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).

Screen Sizes:
- Mobile Resolution: Design for iPhone 6 Retina Display 750px x 1334px.
Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics will still look sharp!

Design Considerations:
- The website needs to be very easy to use and self evident in navigation.
- Focus on the user experience of each page and make sure each page has a complete flow.
- Give importance to the overall layout and think about how a user would interact with the content on the page.
- Show all the screens and provide a user flow/click-path, so we can see how the interactions fit together in the web site.

Main Features:
1. A countdown to when the FIT session starts.
2. Uploading pictures/small files.
3. Review all the submitted ideas.
4. Ranking the ideas.
5. Thank you feature.

User Flow:
1. User enters the app (landing page) to check on date and how much time to submit their idea.
2. User submits their idea (See second page details).
3. User views other submitted ideas.
4. User ranks/votes on ideas during the session (and can view the details of the other submitted ideas).
5. Admin users creates dates, turns on viewing rights, turns on/off ranking/voting rights before/during session.

- Please read the user flow and target audience sections and make sure to capture what the client is looking for.

Suggested Screens:
- We would like YOU to suggest features/screens that this app should incorporate.
A- Customers User:
1. Landing Page:
- Landing Page that has the Title "FIT JAM".
- A DD/MM/YYYY place for the date of the FIT.
- A countdown to when the FIT session starts:
-- Show notifications according to countdown.
-- Show notification on when the meeting is going to be.
- Instructions for entering project idea; Tutorial content.

2. Submit Idea Page:
- From this page user will be able to submit ideas.
- Idea description field.
- Another field for a little more information about the technical and UX requirements.
- Another field to describe the business impact of the idea (Rating Stars).
- Another field to upload pictures/small files.

3. View Ideas List Page:
- From this page user will have the ability to see all the submitted ideas.
- Notification when someone submits a new idea.
- This page can stay private until unlocked by an admin - at that point, all the submitted ideas are viewable:
-- We need to add the ability for Admin user to unlock this page for customer user.

4. Vote On Ideas Page:
- This page is to rank the ideas (either via rank ordering or stars) that can be updated throughout a conversation (so a participant can change their ranking as a discussion takes place); some way for each participant to say "final ranking" to submit their rank orders (would be turned on by an admin during the session).

5. Thank You Page:
- Thank you page for submitting ideas and ranking ideas.

6. Results Page:
- Page to show the rankings at the end of the session.
- Can export results list by email.

B- Admin User:
7. Admin Page:
- Creates dates.
- Turns on viewing rights.
- Turns on/off ranking/voting rights before/during session.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target Audience:
- Prospects and customers of Topcoder who are attending FIT Sessions. These are business sponsors, executives or project team members who are part of building a possible pipeline of Topcoder work for their company. We want this to be a really fun and cool experience to prioritize ideas!

Judging Criteria:
- Overall User Experience.
- Completeness and accuracy of the designs as defined in requirements.
- How well your designs provide a consistent user flow.
- How well your designs captures all the requirements.
- Any suggestions, interactions and user flows you recommend (provide any notes or comments for the client).

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
