Challenge Summary
Disaster Prep will be used to increase community preparedness and reducing disaster-caused losses for small and medium businesses across the world by leveraging mobile tools and assessments.
Previously we ran a wireframe challenge to build the screens needed for this tool and you will be provided with the wireframes we built.
Note: Please do not submit a colored version of wireframes as they are just meant to guide you, outline necessary screens, and further explain the application basics. You are highly encouraged to enhance the wireframes with your own design style / ideas / solutions during this design challenge.
This challenge is part of the HPE Living Progress Challenge Blitz Program (Secure top placements in the leaderboard to grab additional cash prizes).
Good luck and we look forward to your design!

Challenge Description:
The goal of this challenge is to build a mobile application called Disaster Prep. The Global Disaster Preparedness Center’s (GDPC) Business Continuity Initiative (BCI) aims to save lives, protect livelihoods and strengthen recovery by contributing to preparedness for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and raising the resilience of their communities in the face of disasters and crises.
As part of this initiative, the GDPC will leverage mobile technologies to host an assessment and suite of tools for SMEs to help improve their readiness for disasters. This app, or series of apps would take the SME manager or owner on a guided journey towards better prepared employees, better prepared operations, and a better prepared community. This journey would start with a mobile assessment, asking key questions to assess current preparedness levels, and based on the score and feedback, receive tailored results as to where improvement is needed to increase preparedness. To help improve the preparedness, the SME will utilize the suite of tools to assist in the process. Once the SME takes actionable steps towards improving their preparedness, they can move on to other levels of the assessment, as well as receive acknowledgement of their contributions toward making their communities, employees, and supply chain more resilient.
The BCI is more than just a smartphone app. It is an entire wrap around program that is designed to be adaptable to different contexts and supported by the massive network of Red Cross and Red Crescent actors whose trusted presence will support SME participation. By creating tools and support services SMEs will be more likely to engage in this tool than other business continuity programs.
We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).
Notes:
- This is going to be an Android App.
-- Mobile view (Mobile Resolution: Design for Galaxy S7 Edge Display 1440px x 2560px; ~534 ppi pixel density)
- Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics will still look sharp!
- Feel free to suggest any tools/functions that can bring good User Experience for this tool.
- There are no specific branding guidelines for this project. That said, we are interested in ways that the tool can be skinned or branded in different ways to reflect partners or contributors.
User Stories:
- As a business owner: I will use the application to understand the risks, my company’s readiness and start making a plan. I will also use the app to understand how my fellow business owners are protecting their businesses. As my engagement in the program grows, I will encourage my employees to use different components of the program including the apps, simulations or other features.
- As a business manager: The application will assist me in planning for how to protect assets and care for my employees. I also want to make sure that the business can be up and running quickly if there is a disruption.
