Design Problem
As part of the Living Progress Challenge, Endeavor seeks to create a digital company profile for entrepreneurs that facilitates consequential, long term mentorship and allows for the scaling of our programs. This page (which would live on our preexisting Salesforce Communities based platform) would mirror the layout of the offline Word document, easily segmenting and displaying information. It would also allow entrepreneurs, mentors and staff, to comment on or input information in specific sections, integrating with Salesforce. Doing so would:
- Allow mentors to deliver consequential advice: Impactful guidance requires the mentor to know the in and outs of the company. Current tools are limited because they lack the ability to visually display information, do not integrate information into our CRM, and are easy to lose track of.
- Allow mentors to provide continuous guidance: mentors will not need a phone or Skype call to provide advice. Rather, they can log into the entrepreneur’s profile, leave comments and suggestions, and continue the dialogue there at their own leisure.
- Each Endeavor candidate requires a detailed company profile, so that mentors can evaluate the company properly. It often takes at least three months to fully prepare a profile. If Endeavor is able to create a digital profile, we will be able to process candidates more quickly and help more entrepreneurs.  This profile capture system will help us find and help the right kind of entrepreneurs -- not necessarily more entrepreneurs. We've found from our research that it only takes a handful of high-impact entrepreneurs to catalyze entire ecosystems (see our Buenos Aires tech map here: http://www.endeavor.org/in-the-news/video-multiplier-effect/) -- this company profile will give us a more nuanced understanding of the strength of the candidacy of an entrepreneur
- The digital profile will allow us to capture structured data on all our companies that will allow the organization to understand the composition of our portfolio of entrepreneurs (and their challenges, competitive advantages, etc.) which will not only allow us to proactively suggest support resources on a per-entrepreneur basis, but will also allow us to suggest and develop new programs to best serve our ever-evolving portfolio -- thereby helping our companies grow faster and have a greater impact on their ecosystems.
