Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "GE Transportation rOS Roadmap - Visual Ideation Challenge". GE Transportation’s mission is to make their platform of integrated products a reality. We are looking for you to ideate around our platform, our integrated products, our users and our customers to create a platform vision roadmap (story) that resonates with our buyer personas. We are crowdsourcing to push beyond our workshop analysis and outputs. How do we do this for GE’s transportation platform? How do we tell this story?

We are excited to kick-off this Ideation Challenge. Review the details and let us know if you have any questions.

Important Rule for all Ideation Challenges:
- You are allowed to submit your ideas at any time during this challenge.
- You are allowed to submit to the final phase even if you did not submit to the checkpoint phase.
- All ideation submissions will be accepted (that pass screening).
- While we are allowing this challenge to be "open", we do recommend you submit to the checkpoint so we can review and provide valuable feedback. Good luck!

I. Challenge Details
How to frame: framed for Buyer Personas (personas motivations/needs included)
- Platform vision roadmap needs to resonate with the buyer personas’ motivations and needs across market segments

How to structure: We are crowdsourcing to push beyond our workshop analysis and outputs. While we are providing our workshop materials for context we do not want you to be constrained by these resources.
1. Use your own experiences and perform secondary market research on other platforms to inform the content of the vision roadmap.
2. Combine your market research analysis outputs with our synthesized workshop outputs to inform the vision roadmap content.
3. Finally, we want low-fidelity or high-fidelity solutions to tell this story - but they must be visual!

II. Challenge Problem Statement
GE Transportation's charge is to make our platform of integrated products a reality. We currently have 27 products (details in the RailConnect360 catalog document) that leverage our GE Predix Platform and that can be integrated to create additional value for our customers. We need you to ideate around our platform, our integrated products, our users and our customers to create a platform vision roadmap (story) that resonates with our buyer personas.

III. Challenge Questions to Consider
1. What content will tell the platform story?
2. What visuals will resonate with our customers?
3. How will this new integrated suite of products (platform) create an improved experience for the individual users of each solution?
4. Should we include these new individual user outcomes/experiences in the platform vision roadmap?
5. How will this new integrated suite of products (platform) create net new outcomes that increase our customer's bottom line?
6. What net new outcomes are possible in our industry by integrated our products?
7. How will GE Transportations platform create a better experience for our customers' customers? (B2B2B)
8. Should we include these improved experience details for our customers' customers in the platform vision roadmap?
9. Does a platform story resonate across market segments? (Class 1, Shortlines and International)
10. Would we be able to incorporate different story details for each market segment within one platform vision roadmap?

IV. Things to think about
- We are looking to visually create a platform roadmap for the next 5 years
- We are dealing with digital solutions/software and how they will evolve and how they can feed into each other to create new value/outcomes
- What does it look like when you visualize a cohesive story of products integrating to create net new business outcomes, improved end-user and  B2B2B experiences

V. Example
"FedEx lets customers instantaneously access the physical whereabouts of any package through its virtual web site"

They accomplish this outcome by integrating solutions like:
- Physical stores
- Mobile tracking
- Web applications
- Network of trucks, planes and trains
- Analytics
- Etc.

Which produces outcomes like:
- Optimized routes
- Accurate ETAs
- Guaranteed deliveries
- Delivery visibility anytime anywhere
- Etc.

Each one of these integrated solutions alone create value, but by integrating them they create a network effect that produces enhanced customer experiences.

How do we do this for GE's transportation platform? How do we tell this story?
