Challenge Summary

Welcome to Insurance Sales Application Design Concepts Challenge!

Here in Japan, Insurance sales representative (normally women in 30th to 40th) goes to each customer’s house to talk through insurance plan and dig into their life.
 
Sales representative want to put in customer’s profile information to capture their basic profiles, family data, housing data, and other customer data that is necessary to provide them with the best insurance package in future, or change the current insurance package as customer’s life changes.
They already had mobile app, and want to redo the design to see the “power of topcoder”.
 
In this challenge we are looking for DESIGN CONCEPTS on how this Mobile Application could work. What should the user see and experience when using the application?

Challenge Description:
The goal of this project is to create Mobile application design for the customer’s profile information input. The purpose will be to input customer data by sales representatives.
 
In many case, the app will be shown in front of the customer while sales rep. Inserts the data. That is why the key concept of this app should be “Simple, and Fun to use/see”.
 
The whole process of putting data should be like a game. All input should be done with single finger (no keyboard typing or complex input methods).
 
Notes:
- This is going to be HTML5 based app (not android or iOS native app).
- Mobile view (Mobile Resolution: Design for iPhone 6S Display 750px x 1334px).
- No responsive UI design necessary.
- Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics will still look sharp!
- Feel free to suggest any tools/functions that can bring good User Experience for this tool.
 
Design requirement:
- Simple and Intuitive is the key. Using single clicks and swipes to change the screens etc. is preferred. Example, no scrolling down the whole page to go to next page.
- Same color scheme across the app. (No defined color scheme)
- As we will translate in Japanese, font size should be bigger than normal English design.

Required Functions:
- The following screens/functions are suggested screens from us, please feel free to add other screens/functions and features that work fine with what we are trying to accomplish here.
- Avatar Creation:
-- Age.
-- Gender.
-- Skin Color.
-- Eye shape and color..
-- Nose shape.
-- Mouth shape.
-- Ears shape.
-- Hair type and color.
-- The more details you can provide the better.

- Avatar design itself needs to be done as well in this challenge, we encourage you guys to submit more than one avatar design for this challenge.
- Ability to put in customers’ characteristics after Avatar creation:
-- Talkative.
-- Listen a lot.
-- Richness of expression.
-- Laughative.
-- etc.
- Ability to put in customer’s Family data:
-- Note:
1. Expected that all family members will be created using Avator creation UI also.
2. Expected that there will be a way to put in family relationship when creating each family data, and show the relationship when looking at family data (one of the example would be to show in family tree).

-- Do Mother have job.
-- Do Wife have job.
-- Does kid go to public or private school.
-- Etc. 
- Ability to put in customer’s Housing data:
-- Note: Please keep in mind that we want game-like simple & intuitive input. No typing of texts. One of the example would be to have house and apartment icon to choose for the type of the house customer live in. Another example would be to have sports car, sedan, miniban, etc. icons to choose for type of cars that customer owns.

-- How big is it.
-- How close to the nearest station.
-- How close to the shopping malls.

---- What kind of car does customer have?

- Memo:
-- Any random memo that sales rep want to put in. Like customer’s hobby and other characteristics that might be useful in future to sell insurance package.
- Ability to show analyzed data of customer based on profile:
-- Note: They already have background API to analyze customers. They want to see how this analysis would get to be shown in the app.

Style Tile:
- We would like you to create a style tile that will help developers.
- This Style Tile need to have the below at a minimum but feel free to add anything that would help developers

Links / Buttons Colors:
- Button colors (normal / hover states)
- Link colors (normal / hover states)
Typography:
We would like you to identify and define the list of fonts and the specific color, font size used:
- Headers
- Sub-headers.
- Paragraphs.
- etc.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target audience:
- Sales representative for insurance company.
 
Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually.
- How well you implement the challenge requirements.
- Completeness and accuracy of the designs.
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Creativity and ease-of-use is key to the success as it must be engaging to users.

All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.
 
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
