Challenge Summary

Welcome to "Deloitte Pixel (TM) - Innovative University Student Recruitment Design Concepts Challenge". In this challenge, we are looking for your help to create a modern, clean, and intuitive mobile-friendly web portal that will provide students, their parents and guidance counselors with new and innovative ways to connect with a university - improving the "prospective student" experience.

Users will require access to basic features one might want to do as a prospective student (e.g. research programs the university offers, order a brochure, book a campus tours, connect with the admission office and campus ambassadors via multiple social channels, research and apply for scholarships and student aid, nominee students for scholarships, etc.). We would also like you to be creative and identify new and different capabilities that a prospective student may desire - imagine what you would want to do if you were looking at possibly attending a university.

We want you to focus on the UI/UX interactions and bring clean, modern solutions to how this application should work. We're open to new and different ideas as well! Some questions to think about:
- What should the user see and experience when using the website?
- What are new and creative recruiting features and capabilities that a user may desire?
- How can a mobile friendly version of the web portal improve the students overall recruiting experience?

The primary focus of this challenge should be on exploring how a well designed recruiting website can improve the prospect outcomes and experience as well as improve the user experience of prospective students. Looking forward to see your participation in this challenge!!

Background Overview
Like many other top universities around the world, The University (let's call it “The University of Excellence”) is competing for top-calibre students who are technologically savvy and who expect best-in-class recruitment activities and communications. An advanced and innovative recruiting website with a state of the art prospective student features will help the University to better respond to the changing needs of prospective students and strategically market it’s academic programs to a discerning student.

We want your help in designing the customer facing website with innovative design concepts that move the students and guidance counselors throughout the entire recruitment process: from visiting the website for the first time to, order information & brochures, schedule campus visits, other useful steps and finally successfully applying for a program and the associated scholarships they are interested in.

Challenge Goals
We are looking for the best design concepts that explore new and creative ideas for the universities recruiting capabilities. We are looking for designers who can create both a simple and intuitive user experience, while also bringing innovative web and mobile friendly features and capabilities that would help the university explore the art of the possible of how a prospective student would interact with a university throughout the exploration, application, and decision process.

Design Problem
We would like to emphasize that these design concepts will help our client explore the art of the possible for a university institution and how they can engages with future students, specifically for prospective students and guidance counselors (e.g. research programs the university offers, order a brochure, book a campus tour, connect with the admission office and campus ambassadors via multiple social channels, research and apply for scholarships and student aid, nominee students for scholarships, etc.). As such, there are not strict requirements or guidelines for these designs. That being said, we want you to keep these goals in mind when you design the experience:

1. Improve the Prospect Student’s experience –  the experience should be personalized and responsive. Prospective Students should find it simple and straightforward. The system should enable prospective students to make timely, informed enrollment decisions.

2. Improve the User Experience of Prospective Students – ensure the prospective student experience is outstanding and that the system is engaging, useful and attractive.

We encourage you to think about how you would use and access this portal/website both from a mobile platform and from traditional desktop and use your insights and experiences to generate your designs for these two different target device sizes (mobile browser, and traditional web browser). We want you to include new and different features / capabilities that will provide customers a better experience.

Key Use Cases / Features to Include:
Although we want you to think of the entire experience of a new student and their interaction with the university. We want you to focus on the following use cases:
1) As a prospective student, I need to be able to order a brochure from the university so that I can get more details about the programs that I’m interested in.
2) As a prospective student, I need to be able to register for events (such as campus tours) so that I can let the university know that I’ll be attending.
3) As a prospective student, I need to be able to connect socially with other attendees of the events that I’m going to so that I can get a feel for what the university community will be like if I choose to go there.
4) As a high school guidance counsellor, I need to be able to view awards and scholarships offered by the university so that I can nominate students for them.

Screen Requirements
- There are 2 key users here (prospective student and guidance counselors) who both might access the website from a mobile device as well as desktop. That being said, we believe that the main user, the prospective student, will mainly access the web portal via a mobile web browser and therefore we want you you to focus on designing the application to be mobile first. Although the main form factor for the student pages will be mobile first, we understand that some of the screens might be better suited for web, we therefore want you to design at least 2 of your screen to show how it will also look on a regular browser (Desktop). Please pick the two screen that you think the user would also want to be able to access via a regular desktop browser. If you want to showcase more than 2 screens for desktop that is fine.
- If you have key functionality that you believe is going to be used in mobile vs desktop or vice versa we want you to show that. We want the student and guidance counselor to have an omni-channel experience from the time they come to the website for the first time to, when they checkin for their first tour, to when they are back and ready to apply.
- Around 8-10 screens (or more if necessary) that walk the user from landing on the page to performing the key user stories explained in the previous section.
- Show all the screens and provide a user flow/click-path and navigation, so we can see how the interactions fit together in the application

A list of suggested screens is provided below. Please remember that you do not have to follow these screen layouts exactly. We are open to your creative ideas on how to best structure the app as long as important functionality is captured. We want to encourage your creativity!

00. Prospective Student Landing Screen
- This is the student/parents/guidance counselors main view of all recruiting material and functions available for a prospective students

- Get creative with your designs! This client is really excited about exploring the art of the possible

Screen Size
Mobile browser should be focus but for the screens that you believe will not only be access via mobile please design for desktop browser as well. In other words, please design all screen for mobile and at least 2 of them in a desktop form factor as well (showcasing how it will look if a user opens that screen on web browser vs mobile screen)
