Challenge overview:
Welcome to the Engage Together® - Hybrid App Parse Replacement Ideation challenge, brought to you by Deloitte Pixel™! The objective of this challenge is to propose a replacement framework for Parse - which is currently used as the backend for a survey tool based on provided test data and given considerations:
- The client is a non-profit organization helping to fight human trafficking
- During meetings around the country the non-profit team is capturing how different organizations around the region are helping to fight human trafficking. This is currently done in a manual fashion, and later entered into Salesforce. The team is currently working on a mobile friendly survey tool to take away some of the manual work where the data will feed directly into Salesforce.

Current usage of Parse:
The Parse framework is currently used for
- User authentication and management
- Logging visits
- Push notifications (currently not supported but will be included in future)
Challenge goal:
Determine the appropriate replacement for the Parse.com service used in the application. We’d like you to review the application code and confirm our understanding of its use in the application based on above listed use cases.
Do NOT submit generic suggestions for replacement for Parse based on any publicly available links such as
You may use the links for reference but any suggestions made MUST be tied to how it fulfils the current functionality (and new features such as push notifications) of the app. It is strongly advised you run the existing app to understand how it works and uses Parse before you suggest any alternatives.
Final Submission Guidelines

1. Confirm and / or elaborate on our understand of the role parse framework plays in the application
