Challenge Summary

Welcome to the M3T3 Automated Molecule Synthesis Responsive Landing Page Design Concepts Challenge. This challenge is focused at the early stage drug discovery.

In this challenge, we are looking for your help in coming up with landing page design concepts for a molecule creation (synthesis), sharing, and learning community platform for a new start-up company, M3T3. The platform does not exist yet, but we are designing the landing page to spark ideas and generate concepts for the client and their investors to react to.

This is an open challenge where we are looking for your best UI designs and layout ideas.

Round 1

Submit your initial designs for Checkpoint Feedback.
Landing Page Concepts across Desktop, Mobile

- You must upload your submission to InvisionApp so we can provide direct feedback on your designs.
- Please request an InvisionApp link from the Copilot through the challenge forum.

Round 2

Your Final designs for all required screens, with all Checkpoint Feedback implemented.
Landing Page Concepts across Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile

You must upload your submission to InvisionApp, for the final submission
- You can reuse the prototype that you shared for checkpoint

We are looking for the Topcoder Design Community to help us plan and design the landing page!

Design Direction, Wireframes, and Branding:
https://topcoder.invisionapp.com/boards/FA2YKF0ZS2V4U/
- We have created a set of wireframes to get you thinking in the right direction.
- The wireframes are just for general guidance only.
- You DO NOT have to follow the wireframes. We are looking for original and unique landing page designs and concepts
- We have also supplied some visual inspiration of where your designs could go
- Branding is open. We are open to your ideas, but the overall designs should remain modern and easy to navigat.
- Think about how your design style and concepts will translate across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- The M3T3 team thinks of this platform in a similar vein as you might regard the “maker” movement in general, or 3D printing, specifically. While other “makers” are focused on communities and capabilities that help spread and advocate for 3D printing technologies, the M3T3 team believes their approach to helping others make molecules could be beneficial for innovation and scientific progress.

Screen Dimension:
We are designing a responsive landing page, that works across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Desktop: 1024px wide (height can expand with content)
- Tablet: 768px wide (height can expand with content)
- Mobile: 320px wide (height can expand with content)

Required Screens/ Functionality:
- We are open to your landing page layout ideas and concepts.
- Remember that your landing page designs need to work across desktop, tablet, and mobile form factors.
- The user should be able to get a clear idea of the benefits of the platform, the use cases, and what they expect once they get started.
- There should be clear calls to action (CTAs) and areas that drive the user further into the platform or experience
- It would be great to show mockups or "examples" of what the platform could look like via laptop and/or tablet mockups. You DO NOT have to design the entire platform, just some screens that suggest what is "could" look like; things like dashboards, graphs/ visualizations, etc.

Benefits and Use Cases:
The platform that this landing page is intended for will have some unique benefits and use cases that should be represented and/or explained on your landing page designs.
- Allows non-expert users (college students initially) to create new molecules and test. They will be able to tap into the knowledge and technological muscle of a dedicated team of synthetic chemists with state-of-the-art tools and resources (and robots!).
- A benefit to the platform owners will be a diversity of approaches, techniques and output (molecules) that might someday allow them to speed up the discovery process and provide life-saving drugs to their customers.
- As a student, I can design/specify a molecule to be made by M3T3 that I cannot make because my lab doesn't have the equipment to make this type of molecule.
- As a student, I need to be provided feedback on the feasibility of my  idea
- As a student, I can generate several similar molecules in parallel through the M3T3 service, freeing me up to concentrate on designing and executing my experiments.
- As a student, I can have molecules created that I'd like to test even though I have no idea how (or have any desire to know how) to make them myself. This would be beneficial for an inorganic chemist, who isn’t great at synthesizing organic chemicals, for example.

Target Audience:
Students in chemistry, biology, and similar fields.

Judging Criteria:
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
- Cleanliness of screen design and user flow
- Overall design and user experience
- Simplicity of design/strong, clear design concept
- How well your designs align with the objectives of the challenge

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
Please provide all original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop (layered PSD file) or Adobe Illustrator (AI File).

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • New to Studio? ‌Learn how to compete here
  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.
