Challenge Summary
Celgene is implementing a Workday instance to help employees keeping personal information current or easily identifying professional development and training opportunities.
We need a logo that represents the vision of the project along with Celgene principles. It’s a quite interesting challenge to merge the key concepts and come up with ideas that solve this design problem.
Best of luck!
Round 1
For your R1 deliverables please submit following items for client review:1) EMPower Logo
2) Branding Information
3) Purpose/meaning Note
Round 2
Final design will contain all following items plus any updates from client feedback:1) EMPower Logo
2) Branding Information
3) Purpose/meaning Note
The primary goal of this challenge is to design a new logo for the EMPower project. The goal of this initiative is to transform employee's workday. Whether it’s keeping employee’s personal information current or easily identifying professional development and training opportunities, Workday provides a simple yet powerful solution. In addition, state-of-the-art reporting functionality will help to drive alignment with and insight into our business needs.
All this together is what we call the EMPower project, where we look forward to perform the following actions.
- All employees will have a ‘one-stop shop’ where you can update personal information, access necessary forms and much more.
- Mobile access will provide the information need at your fingertips, providing you direct access to manage your HR needs anywhere, anytime.
- Increased visibility and transparency regarding talent management, resulting in improved ability to have more valuable conversations with your manager and empower you to navigate your professional development and training to align with your interests and business needs.
- Supports the process of two-way feedback that promotes a high-performing culture.
- Workday is setting the foundation to develop a revised learning management approach to support the future career development.
Branding Guidelines
- Primary font of Celgene is Helvetica. However, you can use another similar font to compliment the concept, but don’t go away from the Helvetica style.
- Primary color of Celgene is blue, Pantone 280C/2945U. Build your color palette around this blue as your main color. There’s no limit on the amount of different colors and shades to be used, however keep in mind we’re a conservative company so something that is too elaborate with too many different colors may be off-putting.
Concepts Goals
Overall, we aim to see a clear connection between Employee and Empower and Engagement. We need to create a professional looking logo, visually appealing and stopping power (makes you stop for a second and recognize that it is clever or interesting). A logo that catches the eye and pops. We like modern logos that use negative spacing in a clever way, to transmit messages (see reference section below).
The logo should convey the vision of Celgene and the EMPower project all together.
Celgene purpose: changing the course of human health through bold pursuits in science, and a promise to always put patients first.
EMPower Project vision: transform the way we deliver our People Strategy by engaging our Global Workforce through a collaborative, industry leading technology platform; resulting in empowered, data-driven decision making and reinforcement of a high-performance culture.
