Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "GE Indirect Sourcing Portal Design Concepts Challenge". Introducing another great design problem from GE. In this challenge we are looking for you to review the existing site design (treat them like wireframes) and to create a more modern and customizable user experience to how GE employees will use the Indirect Sourcing Portal.

The GE Indirect Sourcing team is looking to provide a single point of entry for end users and newcomers with all the material and links (resources, policies, procedures, templates) needed to fulfill their tasks. Basically this would be like a highly customizable launch control pad with shortcuts and direct access to several applications and links.

We are looking for a responsive design, as this application should work perfect on any device. Think mobile first when designing this application.

Let us know if you have any questions

Round 1

Submit your initial designs for a checkpoint feedback:
1) Indirect Sourcing Screens (Desktop and Phone)
2) Governance (Desktop)

- Important: As part of your checkpoint submission, you must upload your submission to MarvelApp so we can provide direct feedback on your designs.
- Please ask in the Forum for a MarvelApp prototype link.

GE Indirect Sourcing employees are busy and have a lot of different content, links, sites and portals to navigate throughout their day. We are looking to create a customized portal experience where an employee can capture all of their important day-to-day sourcing links (resources, policies, procedures, templates, analytics) in one location.

Modern devices and applications allow us to personalize how we want to use them… think about how a user will want to organize, select and capture all of their Indirect Sourcing links. The portal will need to work from any device from phone to desktop. So think mobile first when designing this application.

We want you to focus on the user experience from Indirect Sourcing to the Governance Portal (Desktop and Phone)

Indirect Sourcing:
- User can manage their shortcuts and important day-to-day information.
- Messaging
- Useful links
- Sourcing Tools

Governance Portal:
- User needs want to find information on the Governance Portal
- User should be able to Search and find information
- How do they see/navigate all of this content and links?

This new portal should allow users to customize what they want on the portal, being able to easily add/remove and sort all links they need. We are looking for easy and modern ideas to solve this problem, so it would be great if you can provide more than one solution!

We have provided some initial screens (treat them like wireframes) that should give you an idea of the design problem we would like you to solve. Use these screens for content reference only, remember we are looking not only for a new user interface but also an improved user experience!

adroc and Chekspir will be managing the challenge and helping with the design feedback. So use the forums to ask all the questions you might have.

Things to think about
- We are looking for a nice clean, modern and easy experience. A user needs to be able to easily find, add, remove and sort applications, links and easily create shortcuts.
- This application can be accessed from any device, so please use correct responsive practices when designing.
- Applications shortcuts and links might have a logo or icon on it.

Note:
- Users are global (what might be the implications of this)
- Is there a toggle/feature for language

Required Screens
1) Indirect Sourcing Screens (Desktop and Mobile)
This is what users will see first when accessing this portal. Basically, this will work as a dashboard/launchpad control with shortcuts with access to applications and links.

2) Governance Portal Screens (Desktop and Mobile)
This portal will work as a part of the “Indirect Sourcing Portal” so they need to feel like they are a single portal. Users need to quickly switch between both sections.

For content reference only please take a look to: “Existing-Governance.png” image on the supporting documents.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- GE branding is currently open. We will provide additional guidance at the checkpoint.
- Focus on the user experience.
- Think mobile first.

Screen Sizes:
- This will be a responsive portal application. So please use these specifics screens sizes:
   - - Desktop: 1280px x 1024px or 2560px x 2048px if you work on a retina display.
   - - Mobile: Design for iPhone 6/7: 1334px x 750px.
- Make sure you create graphics in 'shape' format, so when we resize graphics everything will still look sharp!

Branding and Supporting Documents
- We have created an Invision Board with color palette, fonts and Logo:
(Let us know if you are having issues to access this board).
- GE Branding Document.
- Existing Wireframes (DO NOT COPY This wireframes)
