Challenge Summary

Welcome to the HiWire Communications - Responsive UI Design Challenge!

In this challenge we are designing a modern enterprise communication solution targeting a unified experience for both mobile/browser for messaging and VoIP based communications and collaboration. You can think of the application as a hybrid of Slack, Google Hangouts, and GoToMeeting all in one.

We are looking for designs across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Very excited to see your designs for this challenge!

Round 1

We would like you to submit your initial designs for all screens in desktop and mobile formats

- We need you to upload your file into Marvel App.
- We want to use Marvel App to provide direct and fast feedback! We can also track your design updates and screen versions within Marvel App!
- Just make sure your screen(s) are in the correct viewing order (number them 00, 01, 02, 03, etc.)
- If you do not have access to the Topcoder Marvel App Account please contact csystic@gmail.com and CC tgerring@topcoder.com

Round 2

We would like you to submit your final designs with checkpoint feedback implemented for all screens in desktop, tablet and mobile formats

- Please upload your final files into Marvel App
- Just make sure your screen(s) are in the correct viewing order (number them 00, 01, 02, 03, etc.)
- If you do not have access to the Topcoder Marvel App Account please contact csystic@gmail.com and CC tgerring@topcoder.com

HiWire is a modern enterprise communication solution targeting unified experience for both mobile/browser for messaging and VoIP based communications and collaboration.

The application brings together Voice, PSTN Calls, Video, and Messaging for an easy to use, easy to onboard solution. The app needs to integrate an advanced voice, video, and messaging services/ functionality into a single user interface with:
- Integration into corporate directory and local phone contacts for integrated contact management
- Slack like messaging with private/public rooms (channels), direct 1-on-1 or group messaging
- Integrated telephone calling and SMS/MMS for communications beyond HiWire native participants.
- 1-on-1 and Group video calls within private and public rooms
- GotoMeeting/WebEx style conference bridges with desktop sharing with participants outside of HiWire (either telephone or browser based)

Branding Guidelines:
X1 Branding Guidelines are available here: http://designstandards.b1.app.cloud.comcast.net/standards/
- Make sure you are using the correct colors, fonts, icons, etc. all available at the above site.
- There are UI kits for desktop and mobile. We would like to use the light/ white versions of each of these. The dark UI kit is fine small areas of the app as long as it's predominantly white/ light looking
- The use of the Web grids is important to follow to keep your designs organized
- Pay close attention to have font sizes and button/ tap areas change from desktop to mobile

Screen Sizes:
We are designing for responsive web in this challenge.
Desktop: 1024px wide, height can expand as needed, but try to keep as "fullscreen"
Tablet: 768px wide by 1024px (Portrait)
Mobile: 375px wide by 667px (Portrait)

Required Screens & Functionality:
Below is a list of specific and required pieces of functionality. We are looking for you to integrate the required functionality the best way possible. This does NOT mean that each piece of functionality requires it's own screen. We are open to ideas as long as they make sense and the user flow is solid.

Screen 01 - Login/ Sign up
There should be a login screen that can be integrated into a corp login or HiWire supported.
- Users will establish a haywire user name
- Users will also be able to allocate a telephone number for voice calling and SMS/MMS

Screen 02 - Contacts
- Similar to slack there will be unique domains (e.g. acmecorp.hiwire.co) associated with each customer
- Users should be able to manage contacts both from a formal corporate directory as well as their own contacts for telephone/SMS (likely from mobile contact import)

Screen 03 - Primary Screen (Home)
The primary interface of HiWire should be a “slack-like” messaging interface
- This should include both private/protected conversation rooms as well as public/unlocked discussion rooms
- Notifications and room badges should appear when @user or the equivalent of @here/@channel is invoked in chat
- Inviting users from corp directory should be supported
- Guest users should be allowed from admin level users
- The ability to join and leave rooms should be supported

Functionality 01 - Telephone SMS/MMS functionality
- The ability to have “telephone” and SMS/MMS conversations should be part of the experience
- SMS/MMS and telephone calls should have a similar experience to Google Hangouts where there is a conversation history under direct conversations.
- New telephone number users should have an interface to type the phone number or select out of contact list
- Once telephone user is identified, the app should provide an option to voice call or send SMS/MMS message
- Group SMS/MMS should also be supported.

Functionality 02 - 1-on-1 & Group Video Calls:
- A user should be able to invoke and invite either direct message participants or private and public room participants into a group video call experience.
- The UX should be similar to https://meet.jit.si or Google Hangouts
- Desktop/ Screen Sharing should be supported
- There should be a seamless way to switch between video calls and messaging, so that users can be involved in multiple chat sessions simultaneously with video call. But only one video call can be supported at a time.

Functionality 03 - Virtual Meetings:
- Similar to GotoMeeting or WebEx there should be the ability to schedule or immediately create meetings with a “code” that allows a HiWire user to invite both other Hiwire users, non-Hiwire users, or telephone participants to join a meeting
- Should support telephone, video, voice, and desktop/ screen sharing
- A non-persistent chat session should be supported in the meeting with both chat with all and chat with individual users supported
meet.google.com is a model we would like to emulate here

Target User:
The target customer of HiWire should be a enterprise (small/medium or large) with either adhoc HiWire native directory or corporate LDAP/Outlook directories

Judging Criteria:
- Overall design execution
- Thoughtfulness of UI and overall User Experience
- How well you meet the objectives of the challenge
- Does your design follow the Comcast brand guidelines
