Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Topcoder Dashboard Top News Design Challenge!

We need to have a better way to communicate top news and live broadcasts to the community on the dashboard. The goal of this challenge is to have an area on the dashboard at all times with the latest news, live video embeds, etc..

Round 1

Your initial design for checkpoint review.

Round 2

Your final design with feedback incorporated.
This news area will hold one important item at all times and be clearly visible upon going to the dashboard. It will also have a default message if there are no current items.

The Topcoder Team has many different visions on how this top news will look and be displayed on the dashboard but we are looking forward to the designers to help us bring our vision to life from the perspective of the members. Feel free to take risks and be creative.

Features of the News Box:
- Text (will be no longer than two sentences)

- Image or video may be embedded (not both at the same time)

- Call to action (CTA) button

- There will be a default message displayed when there are no news items.

- Placement of this news will be somewhere on Topcoder’s dashboard. You will need to figure out where it will be the most visible but not too obtrusive.

- Provide a sample screen with how it will look on the Topcoder dashboard:
-- One with a news item, CTA, and image
-- One with a news item, CTA, and video embed

You can get sample content from the Topcoder Blog if you wish.
Keep in mind this news bit will only display one news item at a time (meaning one image/video, one CTA, and one bit of text)

Target Audience

- Topcoder Members

Judging Criteria

- Cleanliness of your design.
- Creativity
- How well you meet all the features outlined above.

How To Submit

  • New to Studio? ‌Learn how to compete here
  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.
