Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "RUX - 72hr Accelerated Delivery Presentation Design Concepts Challenge". In this challenge we are looking to explore the best way to explain how John Hancock’s focus on Accelerated Delivery is changing the way they work. We will need to explore how to do this using 3 big screens at an event, so this information needs to shown really quick without any user iterations. We need your best (new) ideas and concepts!

What is a RUX Challenge?
The RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenge uses the same format as our famous LUX Challenge except it is not "Live" at an event. The RUX Challenge Series provides you with an opportunity to show digital leaders from some of the largest companies in the world just how good your concept and user experience (UI/UX) design skills are.

RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenges are fast, fun, and have more chances for you to capture prize money!

Note: You do not need to have RUX challenge experience to join this challenge - Just jump in and give it a try! Make sure to follow the challenge details, the challenge forum and ask questions
FULL DESCRIPTION & PROJECT GUIDE
The goal here is to effectively explain to our Board of the Directors the main differences between using Agile (Topcoder) vs Waterfall development, and also let Senior Management know how it’s making us more competitive. We’d like to use some visuals, infographics and/or animated graphic to showcase this to an audience who may not be tech savvy or know what Agile is at all. The format for what you create and how it’s displayed across the 3 monitors is completely open.

We need you to explore the best concepts and ideas for how to display the content. Have in mind that the content will be show using a 3 displays stand like this one: http://take.ms/G34dT

We only have 3 minutes to explain and present what you design, so keep this in mind. Your designs should be clear, concise, and explain the differences between Agile and Waterfall in a visually engaging way.

Design Problem
Need to explain the difference between Agile vs Waterfall development approached in a visually engaging way during a 3 minute presentation, using 3 TV monitors.

You can include additional items on the other screens if you want that explains the ideas:
-   Benefits of Agile and why it’s making us more competitive
-   Testimonials/ quotes
    - -  “Wow, I can’t believe I’m seeing something this soon!”
    - -  “The solution is way-better than anything we imagined at the beginning.”
    - -  “The Agile approach to funding decisions required 70% less effort than what was done previously.”
    - -  “I don’t want to go back!”

-   A glossary of terms and definitions:
    - -  Product Owner: Typically, the project’s key stakeholder. Part of their responsibilities is to have a vision of what he or she wishes to build, and convey that vision to the team.
    - -  Sprint: A sprint (or iteration) is the basic unit of development in Agile. The sprint is a timeboxed effort; that is restricted to a specific duration. The duration is fixed in advance for each sprint and is normally between one week and one month, with two weeks being the most common.
    - -  DevOps: DevOps (a clipped compound of "development" and "operations") is a software development and delivery process that emphasizes communication and collaboration between product management, software development, operations professionals and close alignment with business objectives.
    - -  MVP: A minimum viable product (MVP) is a development technique in which a new product or website is developed with sufficient features to satisfy early adopters. The final, complete set of features is only designed and developed after considering feedback from the product's initial users.
    - -  Value Stream: Value Streams represent the series of steps that an organization uses to build solutions that provide a continuous flow of value to a customer.
    - -  Continuous Delivery: Continuous delivery is a software engineering approach in which teams produce software in short cycles, ensuring that the software can be reliably released at any time. It aims at building, testing, and releasing software faster and more frequently.
    - -  Demo: In Agile, the project team holds demo meetings to show what they have accomplished during a sprint.
    - -  Outcome Oriented: Teams that own a valuable business outcome, where the outcome serves as the purpose.

-   Benefits of Move to Accelerated Delivery – enablers Agile/SAgE development methodology + DevOps
-   Show how we move from Waterfall approach to Agile (“How we are changing the way that we work”)

Things to think about
-   You can use the 3 screens in the best way you think.
-   This is happening during a presentation so think of a presentation. Something that plays automatically or needs minimal user input.
-   Should be fun and engaging
-   You don’t need to design a logo on this challenge. This is not a Logo design competition.
-   Use the “Full-width” of the screen: 1920px(w) by 1080px(h)
-   Please use your creativity and propose your best ideas on this project. Simplicity should be your focus.
-   Consider: Less clicks, important information should be visible and easy to catch.
-   Should be clean, open, and modern looking
-   Show us new concepts and ideas for how things could be designed and/or function.
-   As this is a professional/corporate presentation, avoid as much as possible the use of big images as background. This will distract the view.
