Challenge Overview
Welcome to the Topcoder News Page Fun UI Design Challenge series. This is the third challenge of the series.
Back in the day, we had a /tc page similar to the dashboard where members go for the latest info. We miss that way of sharing top news with the community, so we want to bring it back —but in a reimagined way! In this challenge we’re asking for your help creating a web prototype of the new Topcoder news webpage. The UI design has already been completed and the goal for this challenge is to convert that design into a clickable prototype.
Challenge Goal
The goal of this challenge is to take the Marvel app design, analyze the user experience, and create a clickable prototype of the Topcoder news page that demonstrates how it might operate.
Please note that although the UI Design seems to be linking solely to blog posts, we will be focusing more on quick announcements, surveys, and the like. Again, refer to the link of the old /tc page above for the types of news we will be presenting.
This is a fun challenge as part of our 5 Weeks to Learn Topcoder Educational Series, but we’re also doing prizes. Aside from the cash prizes, the top 10 submissions in the final round will get T-Shirts!
These are some examples of features you can add to your prototype apart from the provided design (Note: These are not required. If you have further questions please ask in the challenge forum):
- Make the page a hub of relevant info for a new members.
- View newly launched design, development, and fun challenges.
- View the SRM schedule.
- Get the latest TCO updates.
- See highlights on top rated members.
- Find links to the latest Topcoder new blog posts.
- Read Topcoder Community member stories.
- Priority actions or items that new members need to interact with should appear on top.
- How do we highlight helpful links for new members to get acquainted with Topcoder?
Final Submission Guidelines
Submit HTML/CSS/JavaScript browser-tested code which maps the visual design to a clickable prototype.
