Challenge Summary

Welcome to the Topcoder DViz Tableau Dashboard Design Concepts Challenge.

In this challenge, we are looking to explore design concepts for a new Data Visualization Dashboard that will be implemented on the Tableau platform. This first challenge is to design the DViz dashboard experience and we will have a future challenge to explore implementation of the winning design. This is a new series of Topcoder DViz dashboard design challenges we are looking to launch this year focused on creating great customer experiences for exploring their data!

This is the start of many DViz dashboard challenges so I recommend you dig in and research data visualization design best practices, research Tableau and think about cool and creative ways to provide improved data visualization experiences.

I am really excited to kick off this challenge and the future of Topcoder DViz Dashboard Design!

Round 1

Submit your initial designs for a checkpoint feedback
02 Trend Analysis - Voluntary Termination
03 Trend Analysis - Exit Interview

As a part of your checkpoint submission, you must upload your submission to MarvelApp so we can provide direct feedback on your designs.
Make sure to include a URL/comment the link to your marvelapp while uploading your submission
Make sure all pages have correct flow! Use correct file numbering. (00, 01, 02, 03)

Round 2

Submit your final designs with all checkpoint feedback implemented.
00 General
01 Landing Page
02 Trend Analysis - Voluntary Termination
03 Trend Analysis - Exit Interview
04 Signal Index (Rule Based)
05 Sentiment Analysis

We are looking to design creative (and useful) data visualization dashboard that will make it easier for customers to see their data and take action with their data. This challenge is focused on designing dashboards for the Tableau platform.

Documentation:
You are provided with the below
- Reference for each of the dashboard (please see forums)

Overall Objective:
Work Environmental Analytics Dashboard
We want to create a couple of Data Visualization Dashboards based on the use cases and wireframes provided.

Use Case
- To implement measures to identify workplace environments that demonstrate a risk of corruption, fraud, or other non-compliant or unethical behavior. Based on the datasets we are looking for you to design we will eventually track patterns of misconduct.

Analysis of Voluntary Termination Analysis and Sentiments.
- Termination in the company can be Voluntary or Involuntary. While exiting the company, a lot of people fill an Exit Form where they put feedback about their manager and the organization. The quantitative questionnaire is there to understand the feedback.
- Based on those questions and the Data model, certain rules are applied in order to analyze the work environment.

Design Considerations:
- We are looking for modern designs (think FLAT, futuristic).
- Try not to have too much information on your dashboard, you can make them compelling by making the visualization interactive and enable users to walk through the different insights.
- Use color, visual comparison, and drill-down charts to highlight comparison.
- Have your designs of size: 1366 x 768px (desktop)
- Colors and branding is up to you - do some analysis in this area of what colors work well for Data Visualizations

Required Dashboard Designs:
Below is the list of screens/dashboards we are looking to design.

00 General:
- Overall think through the provided requirements for the dashboards and come up with meaningful designs for the dashboards.
- Need to think about how to layout out the filters
- Take a look at the features of tableau / look to incorporate features that you think would be useful.

01 Landing Page:
- This is page will have quick links to the dashboards.
- There are four dashboards:
1) Trend Analysis - Voluntary Termination
2) Trend Analysis - Exit Interview
3) Signal Index (Rule-Based)
4) Sentiment Analysis

02 Trend Analysis - Voluntary Termination:
- To do a trend analysis on a Quarterly basis, for the Voluntary termination percentage.
- Voluntary Termination percentage can be calculated as Count of Voluntary Termination/ Total Headcount.
- The broad dimensions that need to be considered for all analysis: Site, Function, Business Unit, Team (Manager level).
- This needs to be analyzed as per Employee’s location (Region-Country-City), Job Functional Area and Business Unit (Public Reporting System-Business Unit-Platforms-Profit center name-Cost center name).

03 Trend Analysis - Exit Interview:
- To do a trend analysis on a Quarterly basis, for the Exit Interview percentage.
- Voluntary Termination percentage can be calculated as Count of Exit interview/ Count of Voluntary Termination.
- The broad dimensions that need to be considered for all analysis: Site, Function, Business Unit, Team (Manager level)
- This needs to be analyzed as per Employee’s location (Region-Country-City), Job Functional Area and Business Unit (Public Reporting System-Business Unit-Platforms-Profit center name-Cost center name).

04 Signal Index (Rule-Based):
To do analysis on Negative Signals that are getting generated through the exit interviews based on 3 rules.
- 3 Rules that need to be implemented in this dashboards are:
- - - - Team Size (Total headcount) of a manager (Default size should be >=5).
- - - - Percentage of voluntary termination over total headcount (Default range has to be 20-100%)
- - - - Percentage of Negative Signals over Exit Interviews (Default range has to be 25-100%)
- The broad dimensions that need to be considered for all analysis: Site, Function, Business Unit, Team (Manager level).
- This needs to be analyzed as per Employee’s location (Region-Country-City), Job Functional Area and Business Unit (Public Reporting System-Business Unit-Platforms-Profit center name-Cost center name).
- Table mentioned in the bottom can be ignored, it is currently added to validate the data.

05 Sentiment Analysis:
- To prepare a word tree based on the Comments filled by the employees in their exit forms (Based on the comments)
- Comments could be of Negative/Neutral/Positive Sentiments.
- Currently, we are showing only the comments for a particular manager for the Sentiment selected in the filter.
- The filter also contains the Business Unit, Functional Area, and Region for a particular manager.

- Consistency across the UX/UI
- How well you interpret the example screens (business relevance) and show us new ideas and concepts.

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File:
- Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files
- Submit Marvelap as part of your submission.

Source Files:
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file or Sketch!

Final Fixes:
As part of the final fixes phase, you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.
