Background Overview
We are in need to create a Personal Time Tracker application that will link to a database deployed on a user's machine. In the first initial release, the app will be a purely personal timer/time tracking app. There won't be an integration with any centralized database. This application will use Windows .NET client application focused on the Windows desktop.
Challenge Goal
Create a wireframe for an engaging and well thought out experience for personal time tracking utility that allows people to track their time more efficiently.

Flow and UX Consideration
- We are hoping to use Microsoft's responsive windowing framework UWP.
- Here are some design templates provided by Microsoft for this framework: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uwp/design/downloads/index
- One Idea is to have the application created as a little Windows tiles and dialogue boxes -- a non-intrusive timer running at the top of your screen.
- We are looking for simplicity and usability in the app. Your wireframes need to be simple, clear and easy to understand. If the user needs help to understand the flow, this means the application fails to meet the purpose. Please take it as a consideration when creating the wireframes.
- We are looking for your ideas here!
Screen/Features Required for the App:
1. Dashboard Feature
- Show list of projects and time log history of the user activity in this screen based on period of time (day/week/month/year)
- Main navigation
- What else can we put in the dashboard? Show us your ideas!
2. Create/View Project Feature
- Show list of all projects available along with their status in the app that belongs to the user
- Ability to search for specific project
- Filter the projects list
- Allow users to create or load a set of Activities/Project against which they'll log time. We won't be tracking billable rates or costs in this app -- only time.
- When creating projects, it needs to have several fields:
-- Project Name(mandatory)
-- Description(optional)
-- Should have an optional Cost Center text field for each people (this is a text field for a Cost Center Id).
- Ability to edit and delete the project
- If there is a pending timer, don't allow users to delete the project.
3. Timesheet Features
- Show/View all logged task time/history based on period of time (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly)
- Filter based on time (day/week/month/year), user, project, etc.
- Ability to create task and start a timer, user can set the task name and purpose along with some notes inside it
- Simulate the timer Start/Pause/Stop
- Timer needs to be able to show the time count and record it
- Once the timer starts, user should have an option whether they want to see it as a complete window or as a widget (little Windows tiles and dialogue boxes -- a non-intrusive timer running at the top of your screen)
- Enter new time entry manually (start and end time)
- Edit previous timer entries.
- Ability to copy existing timer for a similar set time of task that happens daily
- The UX needs to be simple and easy to use. The user needs to understand what they need to do without any explanation/description added.
4. Reports Features
- Provide a simple set of reports so users can see what they have done over the past week or month or an arbitrary time period (total time, task, etc)
- Dimensions that we want to have are time, project, and cost center. We'll want to have reports that summarize hours over a time period and then reports where you can see the logged tasks that you've completed each day.
5. Settings Feature
- Ability to set timezone
- Set time format, duration
- Setting to display/hide a logging reminder/notification when the user first logs into their computer.
Sample References:
- App References: http://www.timecamp.com (It has all the functionality listed above and more but the UI is quite intuitive. It's free to sign up)
Screen Size
- Desktop: 1440px(w) & height up to your design
Target Audience
- Internal Employees
Judging Criteria
- User experience and information architecture
- Expanding upon and creating unique features for the provided concepts
- Visual-driven, clear, concise, and meaningful data display
- Capture all the required fields on every page
- Completeness and accuracy of your wireframes
- How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow
Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB colour mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
- Wireframes should be clickable and can be opened in all major browser without issue (HTML/CSS/JS).
- IMPORTANT! Make sure all the content is listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow.
- Keep your source files out from this submission folder.
Source Files
- All original source files of the submitted ideas. If you would like to submit notes please include notes.txt file
- You can build the wireframes using Plain HTML/CSS/JS or you can generate it from Axure application. Another option is using Sketch with Black/White theme (needs to be clickable).
