Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "RUX - Employee Toolkit (ETK) iOS Design Concepts Challenge"! In this challenge, we are looking to design a native iOS mobile application that will be used by the employees of a large company that sells technology products, services, and solutions around the world.

RUX Concept
We are looking to combine the concepts of our Employee Toolkit (ETK) with Employee HR features to have one central mobile app that will help provide immediate answers for our employees.
- Product lookup (inventory availability and price checking)
- View their profile (pay, employment status, performance data and available time off)?
- Employee accommodations and employee pricing
- View their work schedules (mostly hourly waged employees)
- View documents on their mobile device

Let us know if you have any questions!

What is a RUX Challenge?
The RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenge uses the same format as our famous LUX Challenge except it is not "Live" at an event. The RUX Challenge Series provides you with an opportunity to show digital leaders from some of the largest companies in the world just how good your concept and user experience (UI/UX) design skills are.

RUX (Rapid User Experience) challenges are fast, fun, and have more chances for you to capture prize money!

Note: You do not need to have RUX challenge experience to join this challenge - Just jump in and give it a try! Make sure to follow the challenge details, the challenge forum and ask questions.

Design Considerations:
- We want this app to be very simple and intuitive.
- This will be a native iOS mobile app targeting iPhone X
- Please design your screens for iPhone X, have the size as 1125 x 2436 px (portrait) (MarvelApp does have a prototype this size)
- Branding Guidelines, please find it here: https://projects.invisionapp.com/boards/SM3IK9XPWU2/
- We have provided a few wireframe screens related to the desktop ETK and HR applications, this will help you get started thinking about how to "create your mobile view" (please see forums)

General Application Workflow:
For this mobile application we are looking to combine features and bring forward key items and concepts that will help our employees with their day-to-day job by providing relevant information at their fingertips.

Definitions
ETK - This stands for Employee Toolkit. Our current ETK allows employees to manage and track sales, report inventory adjustments, and communicate with coworkers.

MyHR - The Human Resources (HR) Portal is used by employees to find their information regarding their profile, performance, pay, benefits and job history. The portal also provides employees with information that they need for their personal and professional growth, these include forms, documents, policies, job aids, training etc.

- User logs in with their corporate/employee account
- The user is able to search for Products, HR related items, Documents etc.
- User is able to view their work schedule and any immediate tasks (applicable to hourly employees only)
- User is able to view their employee data (profile, employment status, available paid time off, etc.)
- User is able to view any internally available documents
- User is able to perform product lookups for inventory and pricing
- User is able to look up any employee offers and pricing
- User logs out following their active session

Suggested Screens:
We are looking for the listed screens to be designed as a part of this RUX challenge

01) Dashboard
- Once the user logs in they will see their mobile employee dashboard. It is critical to think of what will be important here. It should be simple and allow the employee to take action on any immediate items (Tasks, Alerts, Messages) and also see possible suggestions or actions they should take based on the system knowing who they are, their role and things related to HR.
- The user should be able to quickly search from here
- The user could (through their profile preferences) add specific modules to their dashboard.
- Any cognitive suggestions for the dashboard? What can make this smart for the employee?

Key items in the current ETK application
(Not required but informative)
1. Search - User is able to perform a search (and see auto-suggested results). It also keeps a history of recent user searches.
2. Task and Timeline - This shows tasks to be performed by the employee who has logged in and the deadline for his task to be completed.
3. Resources - Contains about 4500+ links
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
5. Messages
6. Employee Hub

02) Products
As part of the ETK, we want our employees to be able to quickly find products, compare products and see new products (as we sell thousands of electronic products). This allows them to do their day-to-day job and have answers about products quickly.

(See Wireframe)
- User is able to search for products
- User will have ability to lookup for a product based on the product details, product SKU or UPC, Minimum and Maximum price
- Product Comparison
- My recent searches of products (History)
- Popular product searches? (So suggestions?)

03) Accommodations and Employee Pricing
As part of the ETK, an employee is able to search and see "employee pricing" (this refers to a special discounted price for employees provided by a list of brand) on products and other perks.

(See wireframe)
- User can look for employee pricing for a particular product by looking up either by SKU or can be searched via category
- Search results will be a PDF document (s), looking forward to your thoughts on how to show these in the results and let a user view the PDF within the app?

04) My Profile
Official and Personal Details:
- Official Details (Employee ID, Job Code, Location, Job Grade, FLSA, Cost Center, Company Name, Organization Name, Original Hire Date, Latest Hire Date, Status, Manager Name)
- Should be able to view their employment status
- Personal Details (Name, Address line 1, Address line 2, country, state, city, zip code, county, gender, race, phone 1, phone 2, email address)

My Pay:
- They will be able to view their “pay” information,
- The user can view his/her pay statements and manage accounts, change tax allowance etc.
- They can also see their pay history

Performance data:
- The user can view latest performance appraisal rating and next review date.
- Performance tab contains individual performance reports/Learning network/ Matrix report/ net promoter score

My Time Off
- PTO (Paid Time Off) Information can be shown which will include available time off/vacation time

05) Work Schedule
- User should be able to view their work schedules
- How can the user view the tasks assigned to them and task that is pending

06) View Documents (Internal Repository)
- This is a collection of documents in different formats (word, excel, ppt, pdf)
- These documents will be categorized by a title /category of products (ex: Appliances, Asset Protection, Back office, Mobile, Computing and Services, Connected car, Digital Imaging, Front of Store, etc)
- There are a total of more than 4500 docs split across different categories as defined above, we are looking for your thoughts on how to allow the users to find the required doc quickly and intuitively.

07) Any Additional Functionality or Screens
- Do you have any additional concepts or ideas for this mobile app around ETK and HR?
- What cognitive or smart features can we bring to this employee experience?
- Login flow
- We are open and looking for your ideas and UX solutions. Be creative here, show us your suggestion!

08) Presentation Screen - 1920x1080 (16:9 Ratio)
- In a RUX challenge, this screen is the way to showcase your concept so keep it simple and make it look good!
- If you were walking into a meeting and needed to sell your idea - use this screen to showcase your concept.

MarvelApp Prototype
- We need you to upload your screens to Marvel App.
- Please send your Marvel app request to csystic@gmail.com or in Challenge Forum
- You MUST include your Marvel app URL (in your marvel app prototype, click on share and then copy the link & share it within your notes while you upload).
