Amazon GameOn Battle Royale

Welcome to Amazon GameOn Battle Royale Contest. As part of this contest, you will be utilizing the Amazon GameOn service to come up with cool apps for Topcoder.

 

Contest Details

Amazon GameOn is a new service offered by Amazon that provides APIs for games, particularly competitive games. We would like to leverage this service to come up with fun and / or useful tools for the Topcoder platform.

 

An example use case of Amazon GameOn service for the Topcoder Platform will be for the SRMs that Topcoder hosts. We can use the leaderboard API in this case from Amazon GameOn. For this contest, you cannot thus propose the idea of using the leaderboard APIs for SRMs (since we already shared that with you). We encourage you to come up with ideas that can be beneficial for the Topcoder platform. You can propose ideas for existing Topcoder services as well as come up with additional features that Topcoder could provide, using the Amazon GameOn service.

 

It is best that you provide Code along with your idea. The code isn’t required to follow best practices and the emphasis must be on presenting your idea more than writing a production ready code. We would prefer if your code is written in Nodejs, C# or Java. Front end (and a simple one at that) would be an added benefit and contribute to your submission getting a better score. You are allowed to combine the Amazon GameOn service with any other third party API including Topcoder’s own apis which you can find here and here  and need not restrict yourself to only the GameOn apis.

 

The review for this contest is subjective and will be carried out by the Topcoder team itself and we will use the score the submissions based on the following criteria:

• How innovative the submission is

• How beneficial the idea proposed is to the Topcoder platform

• How well the submission utilizes Amazon GameOn service

 

Note that we are not looking at big apps - we are looking at tools and services that can be easily integrated into the Topcoder platform.

Final Submission Guidelines

Since we expect code, do provide a deployment guide. Ensuring a well written (and easy to follow) deployment guide will also help us focus more on your idea than on deployment. Upload your code and any supporting assets (optional, such as video) to Topcoder. REMEMBER - Present your idea well. Not necessary, but host your solution on heroku or equivalent platform and share the url.
