Kidney Android App - Bug Bash

The prizes shown on challnege page are only for reference. The actual payout will be based on bugs fixed and payments will be issued instantly when a fix is accepted. We're expecting to add issues on a daily basis for the next one week so it's a good time to join this challenge! 

Challenge Overview

Patients and their caregivers experience multiple challenges managing kidney disease. Treatment can change over time as the disease progresses, including fundamental nutritional requirements. Online nutrition tools exist but do not meet their specific needs. The VA Kidney Nutrition App Challenge aims to address these needs through the development of a mobile application that patients and caregivers can use to make smart nutrition decisions informed by their own laboratory/biometric data and personal goals.

The app is built and now we need to fix some issues. We also get to test out a new self-serve system for claiming and fixing issues that will help our crowd get paid for their work faster.

How It Works:

1. You need to be registered on Github

2. Use this link to add yourself to the Github Team: https://x.topcoder.com/api/v1/github/teams/registration/dc94c3ea-827c-40e1-8cef-7adab1f0694b-1535571611785

   1. After you use the link, be sure to check your email for the invitation to join the Github team.  You’ll need to do this before completing the steps below.

3. Go to the appropriate github repo:

   1. Android: https://github.com/topcoderinc/va-kidney-android

4. Go to the issue list and find an issue you wish to work. They will be labeled with:  Issues "Open for pickup"

   1. You can only work the issues with a label for “Open for pickup”.

5. When you find an issue, assign the issue to yourself, and change the label to “Assigned”

   1. If you feel the issue amount is too low, please make a comment on the issue saying what you feel the dollar amount should be.  Upon review, the copilot will edit the issue to reflect the new amount.

6. Work the issue as normal, when you are done, change the label to “Ready for review”

7. Once you mark the issue “Ready for review”, a copilot will review the issue and change it’s status appropriately.  Once the issue is marked as “Fix accepted”, the system will automatically pay you the dollar amount specified in the issue description.

8. Note to developers:  

   1. If you do not mark the issue as “Ready for review” within 24 hours, the issue will fall back to “Open for pickup” and anyone can pick the issue back up.  

   2. If you need more time to work on an issue, leave a comment on the issue you want to work.
